@BankMercury @immad I've generally had good experiences with @BankMercury up to now and even invested in their public round, but you see the flaws in neobanks when they outsource their rails to "partners"

@OakDOT @rrinoak Big downgrade for pedestrians. Wider driving lanes will encourage more speeding, lower yield rates, more death.

"Racism against AAPI Americans is not new. Otherization of AAPI Americans is not new. But the motto of the United States is E Pluribus Unum: 'Out of many, one.' Asian-Americans are part of our country’s plurality. We are some of the many, and we’re part of that one." #gapol

In 1942, Executive Order 9066 forced over 120,000 Japanese Americans into concentration camps. Photojournalist Lucile Dandelet documented the experience of families in Los Angeles preparing for this forced relocation. Each tells the story of people forced to give up everything.

@jwalshie They still benefit from trucking, delivery, Amazon, etc. Make personal and commercial drivers pay their fair share, maybe based on VMT. Additional tax based on vehicle size. Make transit free. And also the rebate is a great incentive for non-drivers too!

Non-car owners should get a rebate since they don't put wear and tear on the roads and contribute to climate change and traffic violence

@StreetsblogSF @Safe8thOakland @OakDOT The specific problem is long uninterrupted stretches without stops, where drivers can build up speed and blow through the few stop signs they encounter. Physical barriers are ideal, but with Oakland in a budget hole, I don't expect much. Stop signs + paint now @OakDOT

@yangcoin1 @Safe8thOakland @OakDOT Drunks, reckless drivers, etc. just blow through stop signs. Go for solid calming--like traffic circles/traffic bells, which stop reckless drivers *before* they kill.

Speeding cars have hit Brianna and Jeremiah's home TWICE in the 3 years they've lived here. One time filling the house with gas. On a corner where an @OakDOT engineer REFUSED to install even a four-way stop when asked. 8th and Chester needs a traffic circle to prevent this.

The blue areas are the only places in the Bay Area where it is legally permissable to build multifamily (aka affordable) housing. Your high rent is a direct result of this exclusionary zoning. belonging.berkeley.edu/single-family-…
