Speaking for me and most of the other women I know that is, of course, false. But its not like anyone is asking me out for me to reject them anyway.

I've struggled with this before, mostly shaming myself for needing physical attraction to someone in order to date. I've since learned that Lisa's point is important. Then I see some men complaining about how men only want 6'3" studs who make 100K/yr. because they got rejected.

Why do so many people on this Godforsaken site treat the idea of "being attracted to someone" as an unreasonable requirement for a relationship? Like, do you honestly want to be in a relationship with a man or woman and NOT be attracted to them? If you're interpreting this as, "Well, all men want virgin supermodels" and "All women want is 6'2 Chad" then you've hallucinated me writing something I never wrote. Yes, some people have unreasonable standards. I am not one of those people. There are essentially a handful of things you need for a marriage to work: 1) SEXUAL ATTRACTION, 2) Personality Compatibility, 3) Shared Values, 4) Shared Goals, 5) They have to feel the same way back. As simple as this list is, it doesn't always combine in the way you want.
