At this moment I was with my bike on top a parking garage in Clayton. Mammatus clouds were overhead and a broad circulation over our radar site meant there was rotation at the base of the storm. I thought this rotation would track northeast as they usually did…

Massive tree uprooted and fallen into a house, jammed up the pavement underneath a utility truck. Lots and lots of tree damage in U City off Pershing/Kingsbury. Moved tree trunks out of the way for a woman rushing to psych hospital off Delmar she said “was hit by the tornado”

A couple of moments from yesterday I had a feeling something was about to happen in St. Louis. The first was an isolated cell growing and approaching the city with 3 t-warned storms just to the south. A nudge from from the storm over Rolla could really get the stl storm spinning

@STLCityTalk @Shaw_STL I’ve spent the last year skateboarding in there. I’ve seen fire twirlers, jugglers, cellists, kids walking home from school, dogs, strollers, cyclists, wheelchairs, literally everything but a car - sorry you can’t drive through there though :( 39th and tga are great for speeding

@DanTheDarkhorse @Yumbaldeh1 @ABC7 Beaver dams reduce peak flow during periods of flooding, increase flow during dry periods, provide crucial habitat, stabilizes stream banks preventing erosion, saturates soil and restores groundwater levels, I could go on. Humans can’t do this, beavers work for free too

@Yumbaldeh1 @ABC7 Not even just that but there’s got to be intelligent ways of saving it. Or having a desalination facility built off our coast.

The parasite is hostile to the very presence of its host humans. It is well evolved to dominate the human at every turn with its aggressive engine, loud horn, blinding lights, and deadly speed, though the flesh and bones of the human pose no threat to the multi ton vehicles.

The infestation of cars. A parasite that demands so much space from its host, the human, that once the parasite completely takes over… the human appears to be the parasite, not welcome in its own environment.

@stormbruiser @US_Stormwatch The rain all fell in just 3 hours. Like in St. Louis, where the record daily rain was smashed by 6 am, with still 18 hours left in the statistical day. Not just quantity, intensity too

@US_Stormwatch Furnace Creek had 1.47" on 4/15/1988, or 0.01" more than on 8/5/2022. Several other events at and near FC in the past 100 years have dumped an inch or more. The flooding of DV washes in summer storms is not unusual. How is this a 1000-year event?

Death Valley, the hottest and driest place in the US just saw the 4th 1-in-1,000 year rain event in less than 2 weeks in the US. 3/4 of Death Valley’s annual rainfall fell in 3 hours.

Looks like the United States Geological Service (USGS) is doing some kind of test at River Des Peres and Chippewa Street in St. Louis after a historic level flood. I suppose I am a journalist of sorts today
