Nigerians won't bat an eye paying a celebrity tailor 1m for a bespoke attire. They'd happily pay a lawyer 500k for consultation, a lawyer that's not yet a SAN oo. They'd pay a photographer 2m for a 1 day event, and 150k for a 15mins studio session and 5 pictures. They'd pay a travel consultant 200k for a 10 minutes over the phone consultation. They'd pay house agents 10k each to see one property. They'd pay an MC 500k to speak at their father's burial. But God forbid that the hospital demands that they pay to see a consultant doctor, then all hell breaks loose. That's where they draw the line.

Omo e reach to cry ohhh, cause it's house boy work in many government centres. But in my centre Bingham University Teaching Hospital In Obgyn, we take deliveries, do episiotomy and episiorrhaphy, you must do at least 3 Ceaserean sections as the lead surgeon under supervision, some do more than that, I did 7, you'll be able to do ex-lap for ectopic pregnancy under supervision. We scan and do fetal biometry, do Umbilical artery Doppler and also middle cerebral artery Doppler, pick very key findings on USS independently, I once picked cord round the neck in background reduced fetal movement on USS using Doppler USS as a House officer, called the consultant to see and the baby was sectioned and there was cord round the neck 3 times and tight. A house officer in Obgyn in Bingham University Teaching Hospital will put a new Obgyn registrar that did house job in those centres that does house boy work through in many things especially ultrasonography. Nothing like pursing samples up and down, pursing results up and down, following patient for x-ray etc, everything needed for cannulation and other procedure is available in the nurses tray. We pass Umbilical venous catether for newborn, do exchange blood transactions, do femoral taps, many other things. In the morning meetings the consultants aren't there to crucify you, you'll be excited to learn, And they listen. This is just the tip of the ice berg, it has it's downsides also ohh but mehnnn it's far better than what I've seen in many government facilities.

When I went to a Government hospital I began to really value the nurses at Bingham University Teaching Hospital. In the government hospitals the nurses just sit gist serve oral medication and some iv medications, call the doctors to do every other thing. In my facility at Bingham University Teaching Hospital, the nurses do so so much. They: Cannulate Serve IV medications Catheterize Blood transfusion Ng tube insertion Anything you can think about. Before a nurse calls you for cannulation they must have tried and tried and couldn't secure it. The emergency nurses are very trained to stabilize patients even before the doctor comes in the case he or she is busy. There are some lines if some doctors don't get we call some nurses and they'll cite it. ObGYN nurses take deliveries, episiotomy, do episiorrhaphy repair perineal tears, set up CTG etc As a house officer there you wouldn't do house boy work but you'll actually do the work of a doctor. I did my house job in the facility and I can tell you I can't relate to a lot of things happening in government facilities. When I was a house officer if I needed something for a procedure, the matron would be willing to get the trolley and stuff, everyone functions as a team. But with what I'm seeing in government hospitals, even an attendant can do the work nurses do because everything has been stripped of them, but then again even the little things doctors tell them to do they turn it to fight, they feel insulted, they set the doctor up and report them to the medical elders who doesn't even clarify from the doctors POV before passing judgement.
Nurse Wendy.@HubWendy

This is exactly how some Nigerian Doctors still want Nurses to carry tray ând follow them like dum baby. Don’t get me wrong, if I have a duty to perform as a Nurse, like setting up the trolley for a procedure or passing over an instrument to my doctor during a procedure in order to maintain sterility, why not? It’s my duty ând I was trained for it but carrying stuffs like this behind a doctor during ward rounds is archaic and primitive, though it’s very possible some of them (doctors) still operates like this in their different private hospitals. I can use tray or trolley to perform my professional duties ând not to carry it and follow a doctor like mgbiiiiiiiii Hehehe 😂 #Humour #humourbuttrue

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! -GOD’S Daughter, -HOLY SPIRIT’S Muse -GOD’S Beloved! GOD’S Beauty! I am a product of THE BLOOD 🩸 that is WORTH HEAVEN’S BEST AND THAT BLOOD IS THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST!! I AM ETERNALLY GRATEFUL!!! 🙏🏽THE PROMISE OF THE LORD TO HER BELOVED 🙏🏽 PSALM 91 PERSONAL VERSION VICTORIA ORENZE dwells in the secret place of the Most High SHE abide under the shadow of THE ALMIGHTY. SHE says of THE LORD, HE is HER refuge and HER fortress: HER GOD; in HIM SHE trust. Surely HE shall deliver HER from the snare of the fowler, And from the noisome pestilence. HE shall cover HER with HIS feathers, and under HIS wings shall SHE trust: HIS truth shall be HER shield and buckler. SHE shall not be afraid for the terror by night; Nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. @__Nnamdi_ I think in a Pedri Vernal midfield, Bernal does the forward runs and Pedri the deeper roles so he scores more goals as compared to the Dejong Pedri combo where Dejong is deeper and Pedri is advanced

Diary of a Female Surgery Resident
I've seen too many avoidable outcomes in my practice. Please don't be one of them. Take care of your health. You have one life, be deliberately about it. Here's your starter kit as an adult. Check your blood pressure and blood sugar regularly, and take lots of water. Don't self medicate, and always complete your dose and follow up Once you hit 30: reduce sugar, reduce alcohol, stop smoking. If any illness runs in your family: Start screening 10 years BEFORE the earliest age it showed up Stroke or sudden death in family? Start surveillance 15 years earlier Women: Monthly breast self-exam (after your period) Pap smear screening Men: Prostate screening annually from age 50 If something feels wrong, don't just buy over-the-counter medication See a doctor or nurse who can guide you properly. In medicine, timing is everything. I've seen too many people wait too long. Please don't wait. Your health is not something to gamble with. What health screening have you been putting off? This is your reminder to book it. Don't wait until you start having symptoms. Let's move more towards prevention than cure. It's always better and cheaper. Day 83/100

Football is a 2 edged sword, if you do well you get praised if you perform poorly you get bashed So yes I can praise you today and criticise your performance tomorrow. It doesn't mean you dislike the player or anything it's stating the facts at the moment

@_Teymar10 @BouafifNour Exactly my thoughts too, we've seen Arsenal play some good football over the last season's but with no trophies and they get bantered for that. Now they're doing all they can do to win and people have an issue with it. Well I'm an advocate for good football always

@BouafifNour If Arsenal can win the Premier league with this it's worth it for them Not people complaining that they use set piece to win the title, they've tried all possible ways to win it in the previous season, they failed Now that they have a plan, people want to criticize them

A lot of people, including me, complain about the way Arteta’s Arsenal play, or about the level of entertainment in football these days in general. But if you think about it, it’s actually us, the fans, who created this, or at least the more result-driven fans. I’ve seen managers like Pep or Flick play the most entertaining football, taking real risks to make that style possible. Yet the moment their team loses a knockout UCL game because of some small unlucky details, even if they completely dominated, fans still put the blame on their system. I know this isn’t new and football narratives have always been result-driven, but i feel like with social media, everyone can voice an opinion publicly. Casual fans now have a bigger impact on the narrative, and that pressure pushes coaches to focus solely on results, regardless of how they achieve them.

Barcelona is one of the best-run clubs in world football right now. And if you cannot see it, you are not paying attention. A couple of years ago, everyone was burying them. They had debts, levers everywhere, salary cap drama. Everything was just happening to them. At some point, they were forced to play at Montjuïc cos Camp Nou was under construction. They had no big signings and their fans were panicking. The narrative was that Barcelona were finished, mismanaged and broken. Now, hey are top of La Liga with 61 points after 25 games with a +42 goal difference. They are four points clear of Real Madrid although Madrid has a game in hand. On the pitch, it is clicking under Hansi Flick. But the real story is off the pitch. That is where the turnaround is most visible. The Deloitte Football Money League 2026 just confirmed Barcelona are second in the world for revenue. €975 million, up 27 percent from last year. Only behind Real Madrid's €1.16 billion. They jumped from sixth, even while the stadium is half-built and they they didn't play at home for a while. Their merchandise still leads Europe. Their sponsorships are solid and their personal Seat Licenses pulled in over €70 million as a one-off boost. Their debts are dropping and small profits are showing up. Their wages are finally under control. And projections say over €1 billion once Camp Nou is fully back. They are not splashing like the old days. They are stabilizing smart and they are doing it well. And the engine behind all of this is La Masia. Lamine Yamal. Pedri. Gavi. Fermín López. Alejandro Balde. Pau Cubarsí. These guys cost zero in transfer fees. But they are world-beaters driving wins, and their values are through the roof. CIES ranks La Masia as the most valuable academy globally at €738 million for players still at the club. Double what Manchester City or Bayern Munich have. That is a product of proper long-term management. They obviously Inested in youth, developed them properly, integrated them and let them shine. They also had smart sales too. They have raised over €52.5 million since summer 2024 from academy and reserve players who did not fully crack the first team. They made some money from Mika Faye, Chadi Riad, Marc Guiu, Xavi Simons to PSG and so on. Guysssssss....this is not the reckless Barcelona of before. It is sustainable with a youth core winning trophies and finances recovering fast. Tbf, Players like Yamal dropping hat-tricks are not just hype. They are proof the club is run right again. Develop, trust, win, cash in where needed. If you are blind to it, open your eyes. This is proper management in action. My name is Ajoje and I am a FIFA Licensed Agent and International Sports Lawyer. I talk about the Law and Business of Football a lot. Repost and Follow me if you want to read more posts like this.
