Opened up the comments and my smile immediately dropped. Please please PLEASE do not flake on getting pap smears once you turn 21, even if you aren’t sexually active you are still at risk for cervical cancer through non-HPV factors

You can request plastic if your gyno isn’t already using that already. Communicate with them. They can also add more lubricant! I’m so sick of seeing people act like that’s not an option or that every Pap smear is torture. Just scaring women away from vital medical procedures.

@lezfem @samplesoojin Yes it might hurt or feel uncomfy but it’s not supposed to. If it does tell them and they can stop or use a smaller one. If it’s hurts it’s probably endometriosis, vaginiusm etc

@daphneodil @samplesoojin It does bc ppl have a fear of it from people saying it’s super painful and they’d rather get sick than do it. It may be uncomfortable , it shouldn’t hurt but then it’s over in two minutes? And if it hurts it’s probably from something that needs diagnosing anyways
