The club are briefing Slot isn't under pressure because A) We still have a chance at two trophies. B) One of our best ever players is leaving and there was a very public falling out between them mere months ago. And C) There's some bad news coming that will anger people.

@ImReallyDeeno @LFCLaurie Tuchel is pretty methodical and pragmatic. It’s no surprise he might not like Trent. He probably values a much stronger defensive player and is willing to sacrifice someone like Trent who is great offensively.

@LFCLaurie He might not be ballondor level but he is a much better footballer than every person you’ve just named. Tuchel 100% has something personal against him 😂, but it might be something that’ll take years to get the full story of.

Openly saying you hope to become the first right back to win the Ballon D’Or only to find yourself behind Djed Spence, Jarrel Quansah, Tino Livramento and a washed Ben White in the pecking order is actually crazy.
Football on TNT Sports@footballontnt

Trent Alexander-Arnold hasn’t been called up for England’s upcoming friendlies… Despite Reece James being injured, Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier retiring internationally, and Jarell Quansah withdrawing from the squad.

@LukeBarnett @yesmickeyj 1000000% agree - it’s an obvious cash grab but at least wait a few years - Moana 2 was literally just out. Why aren’t they cranking away frozen 3456789 which would fall also under cash grab categories but at least they’d be somewhat original material. A bluey movie maybe?

@HLFC__ They've dropped points in 4 of the last 8 -- two of which came against teams in and around the relegation zone -- have had massive wobbles in 2 of the 4 they've won, and people act like they're this indomitable force. Why? Seriously?

@_lfcleanne Because you don’t want to throw him straight into games and champions league with a whole new system and potentially sour the whole thing before it even gets going.

If Liverpool are thinking about a change of manager in the summer, and if it were to be Alonso, I don’t see why you wouldn’t give him the remaining games to try and salvage the season when he’s available.

@HendrickD82 @SamuelAdams89 @SmileySmithers @JM1720_ I’m sure this arrangement was clear to the club before they hired him so no issue with it. Obviously wasn’t a problem anyone talked about last season. Do you want him to never see his family again until we start winning? There’s more important things than football.

Liverpool are particularly vulnerable to injuries because their squad is small. People worry about how they can keep huge squads happy with so many games, but the reality of everyone being fit at once is extremely low. Arsenal set the blueprint. Two top players. Each position.

What are the facts? 1. Morocco should have been declared the winner of the AFCON, when Senegal left the field of play for 15 minutes. 2. The referee didn’t do this, as he should have, and resumed play. As a result of resuming play, the game was not abandoned. 3. Senegal, having resumed play, with the referee’s consent, and scoring a winning goal, are the legitimate winners of the AFCON, according to the IFAB Laws of the Game. Is this fair to #Morocco? No. But is #Senegal the legitimate winner of the 2025 AFCON? Yes. The unvarnished truth may be hard to swallow. But the truth it is.

It is tragic that @CAF_Online never learns from its past mistakes. When Papa Bakary Gassama, the Gambian referee, rightly declared @ESTunis1919 the winner of the 2019 #CAFCL 🏆, after @WACofficiel abandoned the game in Tunis, @AAhmad_CAF and his exco illegally overturned Gassama’s decision and ordered a replay. It took a strong judicial rebuke from CAS for CAF to obey its tournament rules and the laws of the game, which handed Esperance the trophy. Seven years later, CAF has forgotten this lesson and returned to its governance vomit. 🤦🏾‍♂️ Yes, Referee Jean-Jacques Ngambo Ndala (pictured) did not manage the 2025 #AFCON final properly. Yes, he should have declared the final in Rabat abandoned. Yes, #Morocco should have been declared the winner. But he didn’t. He allowed the game to continue. And once he did that, Rule 5.2 of the Laws of the Game is supreme - “The decisions of the referee regarding FACTS connected with play, including whether or not a goal is scored AND THE RESULT OF THE MATCH, ARE FINAL.” The CAF Appeals Board decision, awarding the trophy to #Morocco, is a disgrace and has only set up CAF for a repeat of the humiliation it suffered in Lausanne in 2019. CAS will certainly rule that #Senegal remain champions. This is guaranteed to happen. It is a shame that African football is being brought to ridicule once again.

@manlikefola_ @notsantan_ But he did, he went to call the players so essentially every Senegal player at one point were all off the pitch. Even if they goto CAS I dont see them winning tbh. If only they left for like 7minutes then they probably had a chance they left for the maximum 15min theyre fucked.

ICYMI: CAF’s Appeals Board didn’t only just strip Senegal of the the title, they also overturned and reduced a number of punishments initially handed out to Morocco by the CAF Disciplinary Board: Other key rulings: 1. Saibari’s three March ban for meddling with the Senegal goalkeeper’s towel reduced to 2, and his $100,000 fine set aside completely. 2. The $200,000 fine imposed on Morocco for the conduct of the ball boys in the final reduced to $50,000. 3. The $15,000 fine imposed on Morocco for their fans’ use of lasers during the final also reduced to $10,000.

@MonuAFC @LFCLaurie @KallzLFC Better is subjective when you talk about aesthetics and style of play. The only true indication of who was ‘better’ is probably points tally at the end of the season, and even then that’s not a perfect tell.

@LFCLaurie @KallzLFC You also drew to that same Forest last year(twice) and dropped points to us (twice). You’ve not been better, there’s not a single metric that supports that.

Sometimes you know it's your season. It was ours last year and it's Arsenal's this year. We experienced it last season, so there's no point being bitter. Over the 38 games, they've been the best team in the country, and us and City have been well off it. Fair play.
