A 26-year-old guy from Newport, North Carolina, is heading to prison for two years after posting violent threats on YouTube about storming a Black preschool and killing children there. Zachary Charles Newell made the comments back on August 27, 2025, in response to a video on the platform. According to federal court records, he wrote that he planned to "shoot up a black preschool" and that "20 black babies will be shot and then skinned like the animals they are." He followed up with more racist posts about how happy it would make him to see Black people suffer and get killed. Newell was arrested shortly after posting the threats and pleaded guilty to communicating online threats last November. On March 27, 2026, U.S. District Judge James C. Dever III handed down the two-year sentence in federal court in Raleigh.
