Today we're introducing TRIBE v2 (Trimodal Brain Encoder), a foundation model trained to predict how the human brain responds to almost any sight or sound. Building on our Algonauts 2025 award-winning architecture, TRIBE v2 draws on 500+ hours of fMRI recordings from 700+ people to create a digital twin of neural activity and enable zero-shot predictions for new subjects, languages, and tasks. Try the demo and learn more here: go.meta.me/tribe2

Sir Demis Hassabis is quite wrong that ‘Penrose and Hameroff haven’t found functional quantum effects in the brain’. At least our friends have. 1) @anirbanbandyo group has found coherent megahertz, gigahertz and terahertz oscillations in microtubules which are temperature independent, therefore quantum. 2) conductance through microtubule grater than through individual tubulins, therefore quantum. 2) @anirbanbandyo et al also shown entanglement between separated microtubules 3) Kalra et al pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac… showed warm quantum tryptophan fluorescence lifetimes inhibited by anesthetics (predicted by Orch OR and part of TWCF ARC program but they only publicize the losers IIT and GNW. They don’t want you to know about Orch OR). 4) anesthesia selectively blocks consciousness by blocking quantum van der Waals forces in microtubules nature.com/articles/s4159… 5) radical pair entanglement necessary for microtubule polymerization which is how the neurons and brain grow and develop. arxiv.org/abs/2504.15288 6) Brain-wide zero phase lag gamma synchrony cannot be explained classically, requires entanglement. 7) microtubule time crystal behavior must be rooted in quantum effects 8) Any nonlocality would require quantum mechanisms. We can be skeptical but the evidence is actually very strong. 9) No AGI or conscious AI on the horizon for classical computing @demishassabis @CIMCAI @ArcCogitate @TempletonWorld

The demo we did in the rat lab did turn out to be an artifact. You were correct. Here are recent publications, with more in the pipeline. @anirbanbandyo 1) It turns out there is a ‘megahertz window’ to get from brain to scalp, 2) megahertz triplets in humans disappear under anesthesia and are replaced by bursts and what looks like ( in EEG terms) burst suppression under anesthesia. discovery.researcher.life/article/mening… researchgate.net/publication/37… link.springer.com/book/10.1007/9…

@djak4ak4 @StuartHameroff I looked at the original studies, the chances are very high that the "brain signals" were digital noise, eg from switching power supplies. Those guys need to do better controlled studies, and stop repeating this stuff on and on...

Free Webinar Tuesday May 6, 5 pm PST Megahertz Brain Waves and Microtubule Time Crystals Stuart Hameroff, U Arizona Anirban Bandyopadhyay, NIMS, Japan arizona.zoom.us/webinar/regist… EEG detects collective brain activity in hertz, cycles per second. In the past decade, exponentially faster brain activity in self/similar resonance patterns has been discovered by Anirban Bandyopadhyay’s group in kilohertz, megahertz, gigahertz and terahertz frequencies, apparently from collective activities of microtubules inside brain neurons. Self-similar dynamics (‘triplets-of-triplets’) repeating every 3 orders of frequency indicate microtubules act as ‘time crystals’, phenomena proposed by Frank Wilczek in 2012. Megahertz triplets are now easily detected from scalp in humans and corresponds with cognition and consciousness. We will demonstrate megahertz brain waves and discuss the implications for life and consciousness.
