@FoxandtheFlu @LucyStats @JustinLessler We index w/ symptom onset to estim the chance of showing up at a gathering while pre-sym and infectious - based on the incub period distr. Maybe your perspective is that a future traveler assumes they are infected and quarantine lets them "wait out" their infectious period?

#epitwitter a while ago I think @rozeggo taught me about a “broken stick” method to calculate the epidemic start time for flu epidemics that finds the break point where exponential growth starts. Can anyone point me to a paper that uses it or something similar?
