From an evolutionary perspective, women are most fertile between the ages of 18-25. This isn’t to say 40 year old men should pursue nothing but women in that age range, however it’s dishonest to say almost all men wouldn’t find women of such age attractive. A 30 year old who openly states he wouldn’t date a 21 year old is just virtue signalling for the most part. And even then, if he wouldn’t date a 21 year old it’s not because he wouldn’t want to, it’s because he wouldn’t want to deal with the social consequences/judgment of those who claim it’s predatory.

@Mishimaesque I think people are too quick to assign harsh moral valence to things that are mostly just weird and offputting. That is to say, it’s strange and may be indicticative of greater flaws, but the gap itself alone is not enough of a reason to get super worked up.

If you’re 37 you’re dodgy if you’re dating 21 years olds, that being said, 21 year olds aren’t babies lol I don’t get why people act like that’s inherently predatory

It’s an internet thing in which people view human interaction as black and white as opposed to taking nuance of communication into consideration. Theres also the fact that many people online infantilise adults for some reason. There was a tweet a while back from a 23 year old woman claiming she was groomed by a 28 year old she was dating because of the 5 year age gap. The infantilisation thing attempts to abdicate responsibility as an adult.

@Mishimaesque Tbh no one is asking. Why is this a constant point of discussion on Twitter? Why do you people constantly want to talk about it? Do you as a 37 year old want to fuck a 21 year old?

You’re aware that a 21 year old woman can just as easily manipulate a 40 year old man just as much as a 40 year old man can manipulate a 21 year old woman, right? Something that’s also always left out of this conversation is the fact that some 21 y/o women WANT to date older men.

I just watched the Kevin Anderson one on climate, he’s calling for radical change in how we live our lives in which I’m assuming he means implementing regressive policies in the name of ‘saving the planet’ as I mentioned previously. I also watched the trailer for the movie or whatever, it’s all alarmist language with the purpose of instilling fear on the viewer about the state of the planet. What do you think the consequences of the ‘climate crisis’ are exactly?

What’s fascinating about the climate change narrative, is how ardently the followers believe - no matter how many governments, institutions, universities, NGOs, and mega corporations agree with them - that they are in some kind of embattled minority the world just won’t take seriously. Almost every nation on Earth has got laws on emissions and extra taxes and “sustainable development goals” and signs up to Paris this and Kyoto that, but my timeline is nothing but “oh won’t somebody listen to us!” Guys, disagreeing with you is grounds for getting “cancelled”, literally a potentially career ending move in the arts, politics and especially academia. You are not the rebels, you are the Empire.

@John_Cyrano @rawmilkhoney I know several. I don’t even mean it in a disrespectful way but my brother is quick witted but incapable of understanding very basic concepts. I also have a few friends who force their wit.

Smoking is undeniably cool. As for the climate change stuff, there’s big money and power in convincing the world we must change our ways. Almost every policy that gets introduced for climate purposes is a regressive one that causes inconvenience to people’s everyday lives. Ultimately, ‘the climate crisis’ narrative is anti-human at its very core.

@OffGuardian0 Almost every nation is anti smoking because the link to cancer is proven. Are you are in the pro-smoking rebel alliance? But of course, your climate denial is fossil fuel corporate propoganda, using the same tactics as Big Tobacco. Merchants of Doubt. Fuck off.

Climate change is real, as is demonstrated by earths multi-billion year existence. The ‘climate crisis’ is most definitely an anti-human political agenda which aims to push regressive policies onto the world’s population under the guise of ‘saving the planet’. Humans are not destroying the planet and to believe we are is nothing but sheer display of human arrogance.
‏ً@omgsidewalks

Honestly, I’m sick and tired of grown adults calling the climate crisis a hoax. It’s not even a debate, the science has been settled for decades. Your ignorance is not just embarrassing, it is actively destroying the planet and every living thing on it.

@TheHughAnthony The “minimal effects” are cumulative, and of course the climate has changed throughout history, but I don’t see how one can do any honest reading of data demonstrating for example the effect of extensive carbon emissions on climate patterns/eco systems and reject it wholly.

@resurrecti0ns @ZeusIsARed The climate has always been changing though, for billions of years. Yeah we’ve just recorded the hottest day in May but how would you explain the previous record of 32 recorded in 1922?

@ZeusIsARed i think it's partly selfishness but an even bigger reason is that it's terrifying to understand climate change is real, it's far more comfortable to deny it's happening and convince yourself it's all gonna be ok
