I'm sure it is somewhat lame of me to retweet this (for the second time, because the pinned tweet mysteriously disappeared) but I am doing so anyway
Carey Pickus@pokercarey

I played with @ytrainyaser for 9 hours, listened to him chat with everyone at the table with respect and kindness, never heard about his poker wins (which include a bracelet), and watched him take a 1-outer beat with humor. How can you not root for a guy like that?

@casssemyon @BWI_Airport We were at BWI earlier this week and there was 0 wait time. Even LAX was flowing smoothly. Was there any other reason it was delayed ? Oh wait, the start of spring break?

How bad is the security line at @BWI_Airport this morning? Well… you can’t even get in the building right now. Line is moving, but it wraps down the outside of the building and winds around. If you’re flying this morning, would recommend giving yourself as much time as possible.

March 22, 2005: “And boom goes the dynamite." A first quarter 3-pointer by Fred Jones ignites a viral catchphrase, and Vince Carter scores 33 PTS (13-21 FG) to lead the New Jersey Nets to a 98-91 win over the Indiana Pacers.

@NickZararis Boston got Seguin because of a trade not because they tanked. Gaborik, Kessel, Eichel, Pietrangelo, Jones, and Reinhart were not draft picks by those teams. And using them weakens the argument.

For the anti-tanking crowd, every team to win the Stanley Cup since 2010 has at least one top five pick in their lineup: CHI: Kane, Toews BOS: Seguin LAK: Doughty, Gaborik, PIT: Crosby, Malkin, MAF, Kessel WSH: Ovi, Backstrom STL: Pietrangelo TBL: Stamkos, Hedman COL: MacKinnon, Makar, Landeskog VGK: Eichel, Pietrangelo FLA: Barkov, Ekblad, Seth Jones, Reinhart
Blueshirt Bulletin@NYRBlueBulletin

For the “Pro Tanking” crowd, since the 2009 NHL Draft (Tavares), only TWO first overall picks (Aaron Ekblad, Nathan MacKinnon) have won Stanley Cup Championships with the team that drafted them. #NYR

I’m not political at all but if you don’t think this is a good thing for the world then you’re the problem. Hate trump all you want but letting these radical leaders potentially destroy the world and run a mockery of their people is not something we can stand by and let happen! God Bless America and the rest of the world! Freedom and justice for all.🇺🇸🇮🇷

About 100 Iranian-Americans rallied at the Bellagio fountains yesterday, waving pre-1979 Iranian flags and celebrating the U.S.-Israeli strikes meant to destroy Iran's government. Some of them fled the country after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Misreg Story Time Until this past weekend's trip to Connecticut, every misreg I had every met on the felt these past ~3 years was a guy. All that changed on Sunday when I met one of the most miserable women I have ever encountered in my life. I was playing at Mohegan, having an absolute blast grinding cash while my friends were in a Bounty tournament. The table was fun and the dealers were great and personable. I bought in for $300 (buy-in was $100-$400 limits). When it was time for dinner, I knew I wanted to grind more cash afterwards while my friends went to a concert. I wanted to start with the stack I had accrued, since I was now up to $617. But I didn't want to be a dick and leave my seat taken but empty for a long period of time, so I planned on joining the dinner list to be first to be called when I returned. I also didn't want to carry racks of chips with me to the dinner. The employee at the podium didn't know the dinner break rules, so they directed me to a head floor person who told me if I returned within 1.5 hours, I could start with $615 (I tipped the cage $2). Perfect! But something in my gut said to take a picture of my stack and make sure to get the floor's name before leaving. Poker instincts don't just help with game play. They help with the game of life. So, I went and had a lovely dinner and made it back within the 1.5 hour timelimit and got sent to table 17. I went to the cage and rebought my $615 and sat down. Dealer noticing my stack is more than $400, asked me if I was a transfer. I say, "Nope, I'm back from dinner break." Dealer says okay and proceeds to deal. Woman chirps across the table about my stack, and the dealer asks me again if I'm a transfer to which I say again, "Nope, I'm back from dinner break." I speak loud enough so my voice in Seat 8 can carry to her ears in Seat 2. Woman (with around $550 in front of her) gets more visibly upset. She then directly asks me, "Are you a transfer?" Once again I chirp happily, "Nope! Like I've said, I'm back from dinner break. Thanks for asking, babe, and good luck!" Woman blanches and spits out, "You're welcome, babe." She pauses and says, "You can't sit with more than $400." I tell her, "I asked the floor who said yes I can, so yes I will." Woman chirps back again very angrily that I can't. I say, "We can call the floor over if you want?" She says, "That's not necessary" and then scampers away from table. When she returns, she is with a floor staff who tells me, "You're back from dinner break? How long?" I tell him, "I took the 1.5 hours I was told to by the head floor." He says, "Well, we'd prefer you'd start with $400 since you took longer than an hour." "We?" "Prefer?" Well I prefer following my game plan, thank you very much. Here's where I'm REALLY proud of myself. I replied, "I would prefer following the rules I was told and start with my pre-dinner stack. I'm not taking chips away unless John tells me to." The floor personnel then leaves to call John who is no longer working. During the time, the Woman calls over ANOTHER floor (Floor 2) to complain, while repeating to the entire table approximately nine times (and, no, I'm not exaggerating, because someone actually counted) that she, "doesn't really care, she just wants to know the rules." Floor 2 now comes over to ask me what is going on, to which I recap my convo with John and what's happened since I've sat down, including me stacking someone with a small stack with pocket aces. Floor 1 comes over to talk to Floor 2. A few moments later, Floor 1 says, "We're going to let you play with $615 this time, but next time dinner break is an hour max." I say, "Aye, aye, boss!" And the woman FREAKS. I have never heard such sounds. Oh gosh, was the table tense. Fortunately, I kept my smile and good vibes going, and starting joking with guys there. The tension clearly visible in their shoulders loosened some, but it was fraught and awkward for awhile. 1 of 2 🧵
