I regularly meet with constituents who share with me their priorities and suggestions. One of those meetings recently was with Mr. Buchh, who visited my office with his granddaughter, Zoha. I was happy to receive some valuable suggestions from Zoha. As a thank you, I gave her a small Canadian flag and a Canadian flag lawn sign to take home. I look forward to raising the input that I have received from so many of you, including Mr. Buchh and Zoha, in government so that we can build a stronger Etobicoke Centre and a stronger Canada.

We had a productive conversation about how we can support the francophone community in British Columbia and across Canada. I joined Ministers @gary_srp and @juliedabrusin, along with several of my caucus colleagues, for a visit to the Jewish Security Network Operations Centre in Toronto. We had a valuable discussion with Jewish community leaders from the Jewish Security Network, UJA Federation of Greater Toronto @UJAFederation, CIJA @CIJAinfo, the Toronto Board of Rabbis, and @CJPAC about the rise in antisemitic incidents and the impact they are having on Jewish communities in Toronto and across Canada. We also spoke about the importance of strong partnerships and coordinated efforts to keep communities safe. Every community deserves to feel safe. I will always stand with the efforts to protect our communities, families, institutions, and places of worship, and to combat all forms of hate.

We had a wonderful turnout at our most recent Seniors' Advisory Group meeting! We were joined by PC Marco Ricciardi, Crime Prevention & Community Relations Officer, 22 Division Toronto Police Service @TPS22Div @22DivCPLC. PC Ricciardi shared information and answered questions on how seniors can protect themselves against scams and fraud. Thank you to everyone who joined us and took part in our meeting. Our next Seniors’ Advisory Group meeting is on April 8th!

We must stop crime in our community and police are on the front lines of doing just that. A big thanks to Sergeant Christopher Watson for taking me with him on patrol in Etobicoke and for giving me a tour of 22 Division so I could learn more about what more we can do together to stop crime and keep folks in our community safe.

Eid Mubarak to the Muslim community in #Etobicoke and across Canada! This is a special time that marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. As the Muslim community marks Eid al-Fitr, this is an opportunity to reflect on the principles of peace, forgiveness, and unity and recommit to the core values of charity and helping those in need. Eid Mubarak!

I was proud to join Canada’s Minister of Defence, @DavidMcGuinty, and MP colleagues to announce that Canada is providing 400 additional armoured vehicles to the Ukrainian armed forces. The armoured vehicles, 383 of which are manufactured by Roshel in the GTA, are part of Prime Minister @MarkJCarney's recent pledge of an additional $2 billion in military aid to Ukraine. Canada has been a global leader supporting Ukraine in its defence against Russia’s aggression. Canada has committed more than $25.5 billion in overall support to Ukraine, including $8.5 billion in military assistance. Supporting Ukraine is not only the right thing to do, but it is the right thing for Canada - If Russia wins, it will not stop at Ukraine, that is why Ukraine’s victory is vital to Canada’s security. I was honoured to join members of #Etobicoke’s Muslim community for the iftar evening meal at the International Muslims Organization (@IMOofToronto). Ramadan is the sacred month of fasting, prayers and charity, marked by compassion and empathy for those less fortunate. Thank you to Dr. Panjwani for inviting me and to Omar Farouk for organizing the iftar and for the IMO’s volunteer and charitable work in Etobicoke. Ramadan Mubarak!

I was happy to join residents in #Etobicoke Centre and to be a guest speaker at the Sunday Series hosted by the Etobicoke Centre Provincial Liberal Association. We had a great discussion about the future of Ontario and the leadership of the Ontario Liberal Party. Over the last few weeks, I have met with many constituents who have shared with me their priorities and suggestions. The weather was colder than last time, but the feedback at the doors was just as warm! We had another great canvass on Friday with @DolyBegum - our Liberal candidate for MP in the upcoming by-election in Scarborough Southwest!

A message from Prime Minister @MarkJCarney on what we are doing to make life more affordable for Canadians. During the pandemic, inflation shot up globally. The cost of everyday items went up, and wages didn’t keep pace. That created an affordability problem. Our new government has a plan to fix it — by creating new high-paying jobs, cutting taxes, protecting social programs, and increasing productivity. As we build and strengthen our economy, we have also brought in new measures to bring costs down and put more money back in Canadians’ pockets: - Eliminated the consumer carbon tax on day one. - Cut income taxes for 22 million Canadians. - The new Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit, providing up to $1,900 this year and $1,400 for the next four years for a family of four. - Actions to make groceries more affordable. - Cut taxes for first-time homebuyers. - Launched Build Canada Homes to boost supply and bring down costs for all types of housing. - Protected: dental care, OAS, $10-a-day child care, the Canada Child Benefit, and more. I will continue to do all I can to help ensure we bring costs down and make life more affordable.

As Chair of the Canada-Albania Parliamentary Friendship Group, I was happy to join Albania’s Ambassador to Canada, @MaloArtemis, and other guests to celebrate the new air transport agreement between Canada and Albania, which has also established the first-ever direct air connection between our two countries. I was proud to advocate for the new air agreement and proud to see its completion. #Canada and #Albania have a special relationship. We are #NATO allies, we share a growing trading and commercial relationship, and we enjoy strong people to people ties. The new air agreement will further strengthen our bilateral ties and deepen our economic partnership. The first-ever direct #Toronto-#Tirana flight is scheduled in June 2026! @AlEmbassyCanada @AlbCan1
