Great schools don’t happen by chance. They’re led by great principals. Dr. Scott Muri, retired superintendent of @EctorCountyISD, explains why leadership is the second most important factor in student success—and how The Holdsworth Center helps leaders grow and stay strong.

Maybe my favorite line from President Biden's excellent State of the Union last night: "Those bragging about overturning Roe v. Wade have no clue about the power of women in America." They'll learn. We'll teach them. joebiden.com

When Trump was elected, we said Abortion access was on the chopping block. When Kavanaugh was confirmed, we said Roe was going to be overturned. When Roe was overturned, we told you they’d go to extremes. When they went to extremes and passed bans with no exceptions, we told you they’d come for abortion medication. When they came for abortion medication, we told you birth control was next. We have been telling you. We will continue to tell you. This is not the end of their attacks, it is just the beginning.

Every time you vote for a lawmaker who opposes gun safety, you're voting for policies that will make it more likely your loved ones will be slaughtered.

So true- and he also knew the House did not even have a quorum in session today!

This is ridiculous. @GovAbbott waited until there is only 1 wk left to massively expand the call to pass a bill for schools. He is playing games, not making policy. Chances are slim to nil that a bill can pass at this late stage. He has no one to blame but himself. #txlege

The Governor’s bribe is immoral. Texas schools are $40 Billion behind the national average in per student funding. Texas parents demand @GregAbbott_TX do his job & expand the call to fund our schools. @GovAbbott is hoarding billions in taxpayer $ that belongs to Texas students.

ICYMI: Governor Abbott last week bluntly said he’s holding up $4 billion in new education spending until he gets a school voucher bill. (ESAs). This impacts both the state’s student allotment to districts and teacher raises. #TxLege

Always follow the money. After completing a #txlege session on the TX Pub Ed Committee what is nauseatingly clear is that Education is big business. Taxpayer $ that should go to teachers & classrooms pours into well-connected, private pockets. It’s not ideology; it’s graft.
Chris Tackett (aka See It Name It Fight It)@cjtackett

There is a concerted attack on public schools in Texas. This is a map of the money and groups out front leading the charge. Yes, it is elected leaders like Abbott, Patrick, and other lawmakers, but it's billionaires, PACs, and Organizations pulling the strings. #txlege #txed

Oil companies brought in $200 billion in profit last year. Yet the prices at the pump and on our utility bills remain high. “That, ladies and gentleman, is what we call the oil cartel.”

As of today, it's been 14 years since the $7.25 federal minimum wage was last raised. @POTUS supports raising the wage to at least $15. MAGA Republicans have repeatedly blocked an increase. What do they have against millions of working families making more?
