So many people in politics and the media have told me that they’ve done much better, gotten booked far more often, or gained access to places they otherwise wouldn’t have when they publicly support Israel or Zionism without hesitation. Others have said that when they criticise Israel or Zionism, they lose bookings, jobs, contracts, etc. We all know this... so I don’t blame people for going along with it, because it’s their bread and butter, their livelihood, for many. It’s so easy to get blacklisted. You can say whatever you want about Muslims, Black people, white people, or criticise any other country, nothing happens….it’s absolutely fine. But say the wrong thing about the former, and you could lose a lot….. but I’m sorry I just can’t and won’t. I will never support Israel in its current form and I think modern day Zionism has become a cancer. It is no longer about just wanting a state to live peacefully alongside others but an expansionist, nationalist toxic political ideology of supremacy and I have Jewish friends who completely agree with me.
