Nearly ten years after founding @robinpowered, I'm moving on. It was a great decade, and I know the team is just getting started. 🚂 Here's an excerpt from the memo I shared with Robinauts this week on my way out. linkedin.com/posts/zachdunn…

We decided to shut down @rallyspace. Not an easy call, but that's part of the deal with startups. I'm grateful for the time and talent of everyone involved along the way. We learned a lot and I plan to share a retro later. If you're looking for AI-minded engineer hires, I would love to make some intros. Personally, I haven't decided what's next yet — going to take some time to think about it. But if you have something interesting in mind, I'm open to chat (especially in product/tech leadership). In the meantime, I've got a few projects to build with my AI agent buddies. 🤖

Interesting proposal here from Anthropic to convert MCP tools into code functions that your coding agent can then discover and execute after reading the file system, albeit with a huge "draw the rest of the owl" factor in that implementation is left as an exercise for the reader!

What did you make this week? This update is all about team show and tell: ▶️ Team Playlists: record updates with your team and share them in one place. 💬 Text Overlays: Annotate your video, just like your favorite social apps ⚡️AI Summaries: Rally Boards now extract highlights and auto-summarize content. TL;DR: Nice.

As a remote company, we've been dogfooding this internally @rallyspace for a few weeks now for "Demo Fridays". People add videos to playlist throughout the week, AI summarizes highlights. Super easy to follow along + completely async team updates.

I've recently started to add CTA buttons to internal team update videos throughout the week. Still waiting for my first conversion from the engineering team, but I'm hopeful. "You like what you see? Review the code so we can ship it."

You can now use ChatGPT's image gen to wrap product screenshots in device frames. Some small UI differences, but totally usable for presentations. It was also kind enough to give me a full battery 🔋

Slowly rebuilding my Github cred vs. peak startup 2017-2018. The startup maker vs. manager transition is real.

I was off the grid last week in Patagonia 🏔️, so this week I'm catching up and sharing all the new features added to @rallyspace while I was away. First up: A library for reusing product assets in your recordings. When you present the same product every day, you end up remaking the same pieces repeatedly. With the library you can record a feature once, and then everyone in your workspace can use it in their own demo recording.

This month felt like the first serious leap into AI features we’ve wanted to add to @rallyspace since last year. Building out basics really gets in the way sometimes, huh? But now that we've eaten our vegetables... This week we added voice improvements, and story analysis for summarizing and navigating collections of product clips. These are two small-but-mighty steps towards automatic clip generation for product demos... and some other things we're not quite ready to share yet. (Soon!)

It’s a bummer having to redo a great take because of low recording quality. New this week: 🎙️ Studio Voice boosts the quality of your audio using AI, so you sound great regardless of equipment or background noise. Available on any paid plan, and found in the new Auto Edit menu.

@jamesreggio This is a cool move and overlooked — it’s hard for customers to budget attention for every single update across 100+ vendors at that scale.

@zachdunn It’s also great for facilitating change management for larger customers where predictability is important. (Our enterprise customers can opt to preview the release in their sandbox environment and receive it in production a month or more later.)

Brex is a good example of seasonal release format in action. Three main ingredients: 1. 3 minute video. First half founder intro, second half title cards + feature b-roll. 2. Release-wide theme ("Customize anything. Control everything.") 3. Landing page with a roundup of features (big + small) If you're in B2B, this format gives you much more power to control your narrative.
Pedro Franceschi@pedroh96

Today, I’m thrilled to unveil @brexHQ 's 2025 Spring Release 🌱, bringing a whole new level of customization and control to every Brex user, from founders to finance teams. It’s our fourth major release since Brex 3.0, and we continue to relentlessly raise the bar for quality and polish. Here’s a preview – I can’t wait for you to try it! ➡️ New custom fields: Now the data from your business systems syncs natively with Brex, so you can use any field from your ERP or HRIS to provision cards, change your policy, or automate accounting. ➡️ New custom roles: Customize user roles to match how you operate, giving teams exactly the permissions they need to do their jobs efficiently and securely. ➡ New AI policy engine: Create one universal policy with scenario-specific rules for departments, levels, entities, countries, and more using AI. Brex will intelligently apply it to every transaction — from bill payments to cards. ➡️ New admin home: Monitor your key financial metrics, such as balances, changes in cash flow, spend insights, and rewards, in one place — and take any action you need on Brex with one click. ➡️ New invoicing: We’ve also built easy invoicing right into your Brex business account! Send invoices, track payments, and get paid even faster if your customer pays you from their own Brex business account ;) 💸 ➡️ AI-assisted vendor management: Automate TIN/W-9 collection using AI and have everything you need to file taxes when it’s time. And these are just a few of the 50+ updates in the 2025 Spring Release 🔥. Check it out! ⤵️

This month we made easier to make product demos in @rallyspace feel like your own. Use the new brand kit to customize company logos, colors, and presentation backgrounds for recordings. Once set, they will be available to everyone in your workspace when creating new videos and sharing links publicly.

Turns out "Lead with context, not control" is also the perfect AI prompt design framework. The 2009 Netflix culture deck remains undefeated.

When it's ready to go, add a link to code + screen recording in @linear for the team. It takes 1-2 hours to get something useful. Knowing when to stop turns out to be tricky when changes are instant. 🫠 I'm only a few weeks in, but it's working well... so far. Anyone have good prototyping tips or cursor prompts?

🤖 90% of changes will be done by talking to the Cursor agent and pasting in screenshots of bugs and references. (I haven't coded for 6+ years, so it's a lot of me catching up on best practices.) I've found it helps to tell the agent 1) you're building a prototype and 2) you want to show the engineering team once done. This context seems to keep things simpler vs fully shippable code.

Recently I've rebooted my approach to planning new features at @rallyspace, and it's working surprisingly well. 🧵 I now make prototypes instead of writing up a doc first. It takes less time (thanks AI), helps refine the idea, and does a better job of communicating with the team initially. Here's my current "vibe coding" setup for product dev (advice welcome 🙏):
