The next 5 years we will see extreme changes in every facet of the world due to AI and tech advancements from it: Financial - Millions of jobs will be replaced by robots or just by a single person who can automate the jobs they are removing people from. 70-90% of the workforce will be replaced by 2031. This means currency and money will no longer be what it is today. The currency in the future may be nothing, there may just be UBI but this is one of the most challenging parts of it all to forecast. I would not be surprised to see some sort of token allotment, energy production requirements, or something else where we just need to do something each month to facilitate the network and new world so we can stay out of work while the AI and robots handle it. Health - There will be many more breakthroughs in health and wellness over the next few years. We will be able to simulate real-life so we will no longer have to wait decades for trials to take place, we will be able to set a sandbox with the proposed fix and see in minutes how it will affect people over time. This will expedite the release of life-saving and general improving medicines. Aging will be solved. Education - Kids will live a much more exciting childhood, no more school for learning. Schools and similar types of camps may remain so kids get the chance to still develop socially and have real human connections, the focus on learning and testing will be nearly nonexistent as they will be taught by robots at home, whenever. Government / Law - The trajectory we are on currently is not sustainable. In the next 5 years there will be more AI and robots in the government, mainly AI. Instead of having bias humans judging the nation there will be a jury of AI that are able to either determine our choices for us or help guide our choices based on their assessment of what we decide. The laws will be rewritten to fit this new world as well as cover instances of people who try to make their robots or AI do bad for them. This may lead to a one-government world which some worry heavily about. Abundance - We are transitioning from scarcity to abundance, this affects every facet of life. The world we are going to be transitioning to will be new and scary to everyone, but it is where we are headed barring any wars or abuse of the tools and systems we are building now. Hold on tight, this is going to be a wild ride.

An accidental discovery has been made. Researchers mistakenly built a memory device that still works at 700°C. That opens a more practical future: AI systems that can compute directly in extreme environments instead of sending everything back to cooler, safer machines. Space, geothermal, fusion, heavy industry. A lot of the AI future is going to be about hardware surviving the real world, this may be a large part of it.

People are overindexed on current production economics for AI. This is not an era where you want to count on norms holding

@romanyam People just don't care enough yet. No matter what this tech is advancing, and fast. Nothing matters at this point we have to win the AI race and we will. Movie views or not, it is what it is but it is here to stay.

Humanity is not ready for AI. It was not even ready for the documentary explaining why. One could read these numbers as disappointing, but scientifically speaking they constitute unusually elegant supporting evidence.

Alzheimer’s is one of medicine's hardest unsolved problems, and one of the most devastating. At the OpenAI Foundation, we believe AI is well suited to its complexity. We're directing over $100M to scientists mapping the disease, designing drugs, & more. I wrote about it here: openaifoundation.org/news/ai-for-al…

This new Egocentric-1M dataset is likely going to be very influential for how robots learn skills, because the videos are shot from a first-person (human eye) perspective. It shows exactly what a person sees and does with their hands during real tasks, which helps AI models imitate human movements and actions more naturally.

introducing Egocentric-1M. the largest egocentric video dataset in the world, and our next step in building the internet for physical AI.

@flowersslop Ideally it goes from orange to blue but there may be a scenario where we go to red that hopefully would still lead us to blue.

@garrytan The only thing being cooked up is a post-human labor world where people are not stuck in offices 50 hours a week. Exciting times.

@Nithya_Shrii We suffer through a few more years of 5-day work weeks so we can get zero-day work weeks. It's coming. Thank you AI and robotics.
