Part of the reason the wheelchairs I build are so cheap is because we completely cut out insurance and the middlemen which *instantly* brought the price down from about ~$7,000 to just $999. A customer told me they paid $12,000 dollars for their first manual wheelchair a year ago - and were ecstatic to get nearly the same thing from us for only $1,200.
