When you sell a comoany the debt is priced in. That is why a company can sell for a dollar. This is what is needed here. Price whatever is left of company, subtract the debt value and let private individuals who want to run telecom companies do it. Poor workers have no obligation to service telecel debt.

@zamresearch @newswireZW Someone has to carry the debt. I’m not taking over someone’s debt. No investor will. Rather strip the assets and sell. But still the shareholders (govt) would still be owing the creditors.

Got spare change to buy a struggling mobile operator? Grant Thornton, the corporate rescue practitioner for Telecel, is looking for investors for the business. Once Zimbabwe’s number two operator, Telecel has shrunk to less than 2% of mobile subscribers. It carries only 0.02% of phone calls and 0.16% of internet traffic. Its network has just 17 LTE base stations, 0.5% of the market total. The collapse traces back to years of under-investment, driven by shareholder fights that saw the government take a controversial 60% stake through state-owned internet firm Zarnet.

Once, Telecel was the Zimbabwe's second largest mobile phone operator. Now, the company is going under Corporate Rescue. A notice today says: “The Corporate Rescue process is designed to rehabilitate the company and does not signify an intention to liquidate.” The company has suffered years of under-investment due to shareholder disputes that led to government taking a controversial 60% stake in the company, via state firm Zarnet. Telecel's fall, by the numbers: · Telecel has just 319,548 subscribers, less than 2% market share, in a sector dominated by leading operator Econet (73%) · The company carries just 0.02% of voice calls, compared to Econet (87.61%) and NetOne (12.3%). It has just 0.16% of the internet traffic. · Telecel has 17 LTE base stations (compared to Econet’s 1,700). The company has zero 5G sites

@M_Jay94 @newswireZW And they are doing the right thing by selling it, not asking private individuals by carrying the debt as you suggest.

@M_Jay94 @newswireZW No. That is unnecessary socialism. Why would gvt take over debt and hence we taxpayers carry the burden for a company that was looted?

@newswireZW And what’s gonna happen to their debts? A merger with NetOne makes much more sense. Govt absorb the debt.

Professor Welshman Ncube is not why the opposition is dead. Tsvangirai died having united the opposition. Then someone pulled it asunder. Start there. Sikhala, Biti, Mwonzora, Khuphe, Ngarivhume, Madhuku all can’t be wrong and your horse is right. Judas yes, but all disciples?

ZANU PF has become the official opposition to ZANU PF. To the official but ZANU-RISED CCC, my words to you are few but deeply vulgar. Whatever vulgar words came to your mind, treat those as my words to you. In the meantime, NO to CAB3

This man should be found and arrested @SAPoliceService @NPA_Prosecutes @CyrilRamaphosa. He chose to publicly commit a crime of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in common purpose with his colleagues. We cannot take a moral stand in world affairs while we allow this level of criminality.

@M_Jay94 In 1930 a lot of people, seeing cars, just when they were using horses a few years before, thought they had innovated enough. Our grandchildren will laugh at some of the things we do today.

If EU regulates us back to 2019 I’d be happy 🌚 At some point we’re gonna have to say we have innovated enough. Let’s just enjoy the current tech we have for the next 100 years. IDK, I think it’s much more healthier. Innovation psychosis is just as bad as religious.

Starting February, 2027, all smartphones sold in the EU must have batteries that users can replace themselves, using basic tools at home. Replacement batteries also have to stay available for at least 5 years after a product’s last sale, and software locks that prevent third party repairs will be banned.

I hate, hate, hate being forced to watch a video to learn something when I could read at 10x the speed. Videos are for cattle. "Hey guys, today we'll be talking about X -- X is a fascinating topic, and a lot of you have been requesting I talk about X, so..." - Shut up, Shut up!

@justinskycak I use that with complex math equations. If you look at the one dimensional case, it becomes so easy to then add dimensions and understand the higher dimenional version of the equation.
