@MarathonTheGame I’m absolutely shocked, the solo community is a HUGE part of Marathon, & while having Cryo be squad only because you created the challenge for groups is one thing, but to have NO OPTION for solo queue for ranked is horrible. Any solo players going in will get 3 stacked.

My Marathon hot take is that I was wrong about Duos and should've never asked for it. Played around 10 rounds and its just people hiding in corners, buildings or skulking around the edge of the map. That hits different in solos because in solos it feels inherent to that experience and plays out like a stealth game. But in duos that doesn't feel right and its not very engaging at least to me anyway, to be honest its mostly boring. Its easy loot though because most of the people in the mode are clearly scared to properly push engagements and would rather hide behind walls and rocks, so play a destroyer and go for maximum aggression to guarantee kills. But yeah @MarathonDevTeam and @Ziegler_Dev I don't think Duos is it. The pacing of PvP feels really off as a duo and overall I don't think it will benefit the game in general. Solos and Trios feels like a good set. Happy to be proven wrong in the long term though. I'm fully ready to be crucified int he comments though by people who don't like the idea of making friends in the game.

The production cost of Marathon is rumored to be 250 Million Dollars. Destiny 1 was 140 million. They spent more making a PvP only extraction shooter than they did making a gigantic looter shooter. Bungie needs to sell 7-11 million copies to survive. Insanity.

@LUCKYY10P Former Halo 2/3 semi pro here. This is the most excited I’ve been for a game since Halo 3 dropped. The guns and gameplay look so crispy. Hard to know until I actually play it, but I think this game could be a MONSTER and blow any conceivable player base metric.

It’s pretty clear Marathon had a lot of time and money put into the art and cinematics. Some people love the style. Some people really don’t. It’s just split right now. There’s also a real question about whether the sweaty PvP crowd naturally clicks with a super stylized, artsy look. Some do, sure. But when the first reveal happened, a lot of competitive players just weren’t feeling it, and that was before any of the drama started. If the gameplay is great, people will play it. If it’s not, the art won’t save it. Time will tell.
