Two days ago, a lawfirm filed a federal antitrust lawsuit against 6 commercial publishers (incl Elsevier & Wiley) in the federal district court in New York.
They allege a 3-part scheme on part of publishers. 🧵

Alright fug it! I'm in! Gonna make my own Steam Machine Pro!
I forgot I get 5% Amazon cash back. So it was actually $475 Brand new and 6950XT is basically the same thing as 7900 GRE.
$475 for this GPU is kind of crazy value town.
Thanks to @_rogame for pointing this out to me!
If Valve made a custom SoC for the SteamDeck 2 and went nuts with it where it was OP AF, I'd paid $1000 easy.
If you could have a SteamDeck 2 that was able to play games as well a PS5, what would be the max you'd pay?
A cat has seemingly "published" 12 papers, garnering itself over 100 citations. How has this even happened? This incident has given me a rather pessimistic outlook on the future of academia.

AMD has created a blog post covering Ryzen 9000 series gaming performance, they’re suggesting that Zen 5’s gaming performance is better than what reviews have shown, but that isn’t the case.
“Why AMD-generated gaming data differs from reviewer data”, they didn’t, at least not by more than a few percent. Their own internal testing, which they reference in this blog post, indicates a 6% uplift on average, though it’s really 5% as the review guide included some obviously bad data. Most reviewers found margins around the 3-4% range, using more modern games.
“The AMD gaming test suite includes a broad set of esports, AAA, and popular older games, which are a combination of CPU- and GPU-bound titles. Game performance conclusions can be influenced significantly by the makeup of the test suite.”
AMD’s test suite is very odd, they’re only testing with 2-3 games released in the last 2 years, depending on the CPU they’re testing. Basically no new games, it’s almost all older, easy to run titles. If AMD were a review outlet, publishing day one reviews, they would be slammed by viewers/readers for how outdated their gaming test suite is.
They only show performance gains with this Windows update for Zen 5, but note “Zen 5 will see the biggest boost, but this Windows update will improve performance for Zen 4 and Zen 3 as well. We're collaborating with Microsoft to roll out this optional update to all Windows 11 users soon.”
As we’ve already shown, scaling is much the same, at most this update will move things +1% in favour of Zen 5, it’s a nothing burger.
