SB1517 passed the Oregon House and is going back to the Senate. Now, our outdoor recreation industry can breathe a sigh of relief. You’ve heard me talk plenty about the threats to our billion dollar industry over the past two years, and we’re finally one step closer to making sure our outdoor businesses are protected. #ORPol #ORLeg #OROutdoors

So this is how it works in Salem? Vote the “wrong” way and leadership pulls you off the floor? During the HB 4145 work session, Rep. Tran voted NO. Mid–roll call, a recess was called by Rep. Kropf. Fifteen minutes later she came back — visibly shaken, reportedly in tears — and changed her vote to YES. That’s not persuasion. That looks like pressure. Derek LeBlanc has already filed a conduct complaint with the Legislative Equity Office — a Committee Rep. Kropf himself serves on. If you believe every legislator is free to vote their conscience, you might want to watch that clip again. The deeper you look in Salem, the uglier it gets. Oregonians deserve answers about what happened during that 15-minute recess. Email Rep Kropf now at: Rep.jasonkropf@oregonlegislature.gov

Oregon’s outdoor economy is a $17 billion engine that supports thousands of paychecks across our state. From guides and outfitters to small-town businesses, these jobs depend on clear, commonsense protections. The recreational liability bill is ready, and the votes are there. It deserves a simple up-or-down vote, not to be buried in committee while families wait. Protect the jobs. Protect the outdoors. Let’s get Back to Basics and keep Oregon working. #ORPol #ORLeg #OregonOutdoors

@zcollier Thank you — I appreciate that. No one person saves a state, but strong leadership and people working together can absolutely turn things in the right direction. I’m all in.

The message is simple: the votes are there, the bill is ready, and it deserves a simple up-or-down vote. Oregon’s outdoor economy is a $17 billion industry supporting thousands of jobs. Policy doesn’t protect a single paycheck if it never makes it out of committee. Protect the jobs. Protect the outdoors. Let’s get back to basics and keep Oregon working. SB 1593 and HB 4071 are currently being held in committee. Use the information below to contact committee members and respectfully ask them to move these bills to the floor for a vote. #ORPol #ORLeg #OregonOutdoors #OREconomy

Please let the Oregon Recreation Commerce and Affordability Act of 2026 SB 1593 @RobForOregon get a vote. There is overwhelming support for this bill which is crucial for the future of recreation businesses in Oregon. Thank you @JeffHelfrichOR for your thoughtful stance on the house bill.
