HAPPENING: The ADC Leadership are currently in an emergency meeting to discuss the development and agree next steps. One of the key consideration is to zone the President to the South. Also to reduce the amount for the purchase of nomination forms. What's your view on this?

Peter Obi@PeterObi·
Fellow Nigerians, good morning. I woke up this morning after my church service with a deeply reflective heart, and despite every constraint, I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you. Many people do not truly understand the silent pains some of us carry daily—the private struggles, emotional burdens, and quiet battles we face while trying to survive and serve sincerely in difficult circumstances. We now live in an environment that has become increasingly toxic, where the very system that should protect and create opportunities for decent living often works against the people—a society where intimidation, insecurity, endless scrutiny, and discouragement have become normal. More painful is when some of those you associate with, believing you would find understanding and solidarity among them, become part of the pressure you face. Some who publicly identify with you privately distance themselves or join in unfair criticism. We live in a society where humility is mistaken for weakness, respect is seen as a lack of courage, and compassion is treated as foolishness—a system where treating people equally is questioned simply because you refuse to worship status, tribe, class, or power. Personally, I have never looked down on anyone except to uplift them. I have never used privilege, position, or resources to oppress others, intimidate the weak, or make people feel small. To me, leadership has always been about service, sacrifice, and helping others rise. Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them. However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building. Even within spaces where one labours sincerely, one is sometimes treated like an outsider in one’s own home. You and your team become easy targets for every failure, frustration, or misunderstanding, as though honest contribution has become a favour being tolerated rather than appreciated. And when you choose to leave so that those you are leaving can have peace, and you step out into the cold, you are still maligned and your character is questioned. Despite all your efforts to continue working for a better Nigeria and engaging people with sincerity and goodwill, those who do not wish you well continue to attack your character and question your intentions. There are moments I ask God in prayer: Why is doing the right thing often misconstrued as wrongdoing in our country? Why is integrity not valued? Why is the prudent management of resources, especially when invested in critical areas like education and healthcare, wrongly labelled as stinginess? Why are humility and obedience to the rule of law often taken to be weakness rather than discipline? Let me assure all that I am not desperate to be President, Vice President, or Senate President. I am desperate to see a society that can console a mother whose child has been kidnapped or killed while going to school or work. I am desperate to see a Nigeria where people will not live in IDP camps but in their homes. I am desperate for a country where Nigerian citizens do not go to bed hungry, not knowing where their next meal will come from. Yet, despite everything, I remain resolute. I firmly believe that Nigeria can still become a country with competent leadership based on justice, compassion, and equal opportunity for all. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

@tobyasky Football hard pass rocket science. People won't believe it cos they're stuck to watching first division football. When i learned thoroughly about lower leagues especiall from div 3 downwards was in FM 2020. I saw hell going from Vanrama National to EPL. Took me about 16 seasons.

The major risk that comes with relegation is that, you may not rise again, or it’ll take ages before you rise. Coventry relegated from the premier league in 2001. In that time, they’ve almost relegated to non league😭. They played championship, relegated to league one, relegated to league two, imagine they also relegated to non league football😅. If Millwall promotes, it’ll be their first time since 1990. There are clubs like Wimbledon, Sheffield Wednesday who were household names in the premier league, they’re both in League One now. I mean, Wigan won the FA cup over a decade ago, where are they? Not even in the championship (I miss my guy Rodallega though). Same with Bolton Wanderers, Reading (my guy Sidwell😞), Huddersfield, Blackpool (Charlie Adam’s sweet left foot), these teams are wallowing in the lower divisions. More recently, there’s been Watford, Norwich, Portsmouth, West Brom, Birmingham City, Swansea, QPR, Blackburn (sexy footballer David Bentley), etc., this is a major risk when you relegate, it could go worse from there. First thing that happens when you relegate is that you lose your best players. Those guys don’t want to play in the lower leagues with probably reduced wages and lesser visibility, these guys are internationals, so they leave. All of a sudden, you struggle to come back because you now have same level of players with Bristol City😭 Luton relegated from premier league and subsequently relegated to league one, same with Leicester now, it becomes difficult. Similar thing happened to Sunderland, they also relegated from championship to league one, but thank God they’re back after so many years out. There are clubs that have also mastered the art of promoting immediately to the premier league after relegation. Clubs like Burnley, but these are outliers. Just try as much as possible never to relegate, else VAR won’t save you in the proper shithouse football you’ll meet in the lower divisions.

Rashford has adapted perfectly to the dressing room. In his first season, with a rotation role, he has managed to get 24 G/A so far. There is no other winger in the world with his quality for €30m. Get it done, @FCBarcelona.

@tonyajah The party executives are complicit in the decision to want a consensus. That way they're able to cash out and still wait for the windfall from AAs war chest. It shows the range of the ADC executives. A pig will always return to the mire, as a leopard can never change it's skin.

Let's set the records straight here! In ADC, the party wants a consensus method. Atiku Abubakar also wants a consensus method. Peter Obi however wants a direct primary method. This way, the people will determine who becomes the party's presidential candidate and not some few party executives. For those who don't know, the new electoral law allows for only two options which are direct primary and consensus. The law has abolished the delegate method. The advantage of the consensus method is that it's cheaper to run however it has a huge disadvantage which is that a candidate emerges by the decision of just very few party executives. The direct primary on the other hand allows every member of the party to participate in the primary thereby ensuring that the most popular candidate emerges. The ADC and Atiku Abubakar want CONSENSUS while Peter Obi wants DIRECT PRIMARY. There is video evidence to back up my claim in the comment section. Be the judge, who is more sincere and who is running away from primary? Nigeria will be OK . ~ Advocacy for Good Governance.

@RealQueenBee__ Why is Atiku participating in the primaries? Why can't he just respect the zoning standards and let things play out the way it should? He has no regard for the South and that should be the warning not to associate with anything he's involved with.

HAPPENING: A high powered leadership delegation of the ADC are having an urgent last minute emergency meeting to persuade Peter Obi and Kwankwaso to stop their planned defection to the NDC. They assured Mr. Obi that there will be transparent party direct primaries which will be televised and supervised by independent body. THE DANGER: The danger is if Obi participates in ADC primaries, he'll no longer be able to participate in another primaries in another political party. What's your take on it?

@Ntob None of the big wigs ever merited the positions they held when in power. They either rigged or used the presidential incumbent power to stay. Also, ALL OF THEM are in one party cos BAT decided to do away with them. So, they're in just to wrestle power by any means, nothing after!

Obi won’t say it out because—if he does, everywhere go scatter. Before the Ibadan declaration; they sent message to him to agree that he will share juicy contracts and appointment to them in exchange for their support. He asked them: How are we different from Tinubu/APC if our goal is to win election and loot funds meant for the people? Na dia Wahala start🤦🏽‍♂️
