People wrongfully associate adoption with saving a child but the truth is most adoptions do not happen because of safety issues and many are abused in their adoptive homes. No child should ever be with an abuser or unsafe but adoption is not necessary to make that happen.

Disability fact of the day: All disabled people deserve to live fulfilled lives. They deserve everything able bodied people get without being constantly told they don’t. We deserve to exist. We deserve nice things. We don’t deserve to be treated as less than human.

Vouchers will not help with: paying for petrol for lifts or to appointments/picking up prescriptions/shopping, ubers/taxis to appointments, the local gardener/cleaner, transport to work, shopping, shopping delivery costs, private therapies or treatments not available on the NHS
Recovery in the Bin@RITB_

To be clear, vouchers is not mentioned by name in the Timms interim report. It is the media being briefed possibly by mischievous DWP and definitely by the right wing think tanks that is saying vouchers.

MoD SAYS SORRY WITH ONE HAND AND SUES SURVIVORS WITH THE OTHER Jaysley Beck was 19. A gunner in the Royal Artillery. She reported a sexual assault. The army handled it so badly she ended up still working near the man who then targeted her further. In December 2021 she took her own life. In February 2025 a coroner ruled the army's failures played a significant role in her death. The response was the usual wave of institutional concern that fades right after the cameras leave. Online army forums like Fill Your Boots were flooded with more than a thousand fresh testimonies within days. Soldiers left suicidal after their complaints were ignored. Women told to grow up after reporting harassment by a senior officer. A servicewoman raped and left with PTSD while her attacker walked away with barely a slap on the wrist. General Sir Roly Walker @ArmyCGS, the head of the army, admitted senior ranks may be "actively complicit" in the abuse. Bold admission from the man running the whole show. The then veterans minister Alistair Carns @AlistairCarns said the Ministry of Defence @DefenceHQ was sorry for the failure. Sorry is free. Justice, apparently, requires paperwork. In October 2025 Michael Webber, Beck's former Battery Sergeant Major, was finally sentenced for sexually assaulting her. Four years after her death. Around the same time an investigation by @openDemocracy found the MoD has quietly paid out almost 20 million pounds over the past decade to 181 victims of sexual misconduct, abuse and harassment. A tidy line item for what looks a lot like the cost of doing business. In November 2025 two rape survivors had to take the Ministry of Defence to the High Court because its own policy requires service personnel to ask permission before speaking to the media or to Parliament about their own sexual assaults. Represented by the Centre for Military Justice @cmjhq and director Emma Norton @EmmaNorton10, the case argues servicewomen should not need a permission slip from the very institution they are accusing. Former Defence Sub-Committee chair Sarah Atherton, whose 2021 inquiry found two thirds of servicewomen had faced bullying, harassment or discrimination during their careers, dismissed the entire cycle as empty promises. She has been hearing the same lines since 2019. An army trained to storm beaches apparently cannot handle a woman telling her own government she was raped without a form and a stamp of approval first. Disability is seen as a burden to society. And people with disabilities are twice more likely to experience bullying compared to their non-disabled peers. This article looks at how society’s treatment of people with disabilities can be traumatizing. buff.ly/3AT7Wfy
