Children 5-11 weren't eligible until well into the school year in the fall of 2021. So even worse...

5 years ago today, Biden and the CDC said vaccinated people don’t need to mask just as we were close to getting C0VlD under control. After this, the U.S. government stopped trying to contain C0VlD, causing nearly a million deaths and tens of millions to become disabled.

@Derek_a_Franks I always remember that. I'd gotten my second shot on 5/5 and, when they said that, thought, "I'm not even going to get one trip to the store where I felt safe." I was confident vaccine PLUS masking would work. Unfortunately, because masks aren't 100%, I'd caught it by 6/30.

@SteveTheBookGuy I watched a video on it. Still angry. It's a "rare" form that transmits person to person, airborne, and people are out there contagious. But "don't worry...you have to be very close and it's probably only killing elderly people, like Gene Hackman's wife" [who was 65]. Same old.

I think what this Hantavirus thing proves is that a lot of folks who have been walking around without a care in the world have a massive amount of unresolved trauma to deal with. Shout out to Covid Aware folks who are the most mentally resilient people I am aware of!

@ProletariatRis1 Oh and one little thing...get some jigsaw puzzles. I find they help with concentration, focus and, every time you fit a piece, you feel like, "I got this" ;-). Ravensburger is a nice brand.

@ProletariatRis1 It gets better. Truly. It took approximately 3 months until I felt myself again. This is considered "normal" for Covid. I was never the same again (infected 2021--a "mild" breakthrough case) but I am so much better than I was. Rest a lot. Watch happy shows and movies.

So.. this is my first time with COVID-19. I managed to avoid it for 6 years of this pandemic... I'm definitely feeling that "brain fog" everyone was talking about. I heard this doesn't ever go away. Please tell me that's not true. I feel STONED and I haven't vaped THC in 10 days.

@CovidSolidarit1 I haven't found it any better there in that respect. Early on, I got the usual barrage of anti-maskers. I doubt it's changed. But, for me, I get way more response when I post my art there than here.

Got my gnome fix today. Yesterday, I used pour paint for the hats and sleeves. Today, I painted the rest with acrylics, then used an acrylic marker for the outlines. #rockpainting #paintedrocks #gnomes #fantasyart #gardenart
