I'm putting this out there not to fish for compliments but to make all women of a 'certain' age realise that we do not need to prove ourselves to anyone.
Recently, I was criticised quite heavily for my appearance by a woman six years younger than me. I apparently wear the wrong eyeshadow, my eyebrows need doing, I should moisturise daily to sort out the eye bags, my boobs are droopy, and I need to wear bras to lift them. I won't deny this hurt me because it was said by someone I know, not on here, I should add. But this woman's criticism has made me look at myself more and today, nearly a week later, I'm going to say fuck it.
I'm 54 in December and might be a bit saggy and overweight and have the odd middle-aged look about me, but no one...NO ONE has the right to criticise any woman's appearance.
We are all different and worth so much more than we often think.
