For sure, I agree most of it gets spiked by SCOTUS but Congress does nothing about the lower court judges who get away with ignoring SCOTUS; Trump ended all major surges of enforcement and hasn’t mentioned the insurrection act since he got punked in MN. Now the war has completely eclipsed any conversation about ramping up deportations again.

Yep. Agreed, it’s a pill I’ve come to realize has to be swallowed. It’s never been more over. Congress is completely compromised and has no will to codify anything. DJT pussied out of mass deportations after they called his bluff re: Insurrection act, & the ‘surge’ drawdown was supposedly to ease midterm backlash & then he goes and starts a war in Iran as if we aren’t going to lose midterms anyways. He’s controlled by other gutless neocon boomers and we aren’t even 2 years in.

And what’s worse is that the deportations are done and over with and it’s only been 1.3 years into trump’s presidency…. No border wall - which was essential in making sure when dems win all 3 branches of government next election they physically can’t tear it down. They can of course, undo trump policy that’s a given. But now we’re dick deep in a conflict over seas the cost of energy is going to boil the lower and middle class. Peep your gas prices diesel looking kinda expensive huh guess what follows the cost of food which we’re already expensive.. not to blackpill but it’s never been more over 😂

When I was in law school, we learned about something called “the one-way ratchet theory of rights.”  This legalistic abomination, pushed by Thurgood Marshall among others, contended that once a governmental entity created a new “right,” it could not later decide to take that “right” away.  It now appears federal district courts are putting the one-way ratchet theory to a new use: if a Democrat administration expands the government, a Republican administration cannot later undo the expansion, even if it uses the same procedural mechanisms.  Government can never shrink; it can only grow.  As with all of The Left’s “legal” theories, The Left always wins.
