when i first came to korea 12 months ago, something felt really off. everything seemed driven by government programs, grants, and vc money. there wasn’t much bootstrapping. not much freedom. nothing like @fdotinc or @_buildspace. i really wanted to change korea. so i brought together some incredible founders from @ycombinator @speedrun and hosted our first ever tech week in seoul. -1000 korean founders rsvp’d -english only -ended with a korean bbq with everyone inspired a lot of founders in asia to think bigger than they’re used to. after the event, founders in our batch started building some wild things.. time travel startups, ai boyfriends, even blood delivery drones. i want to help shift not just korea, but the entire startup culture across asia to become the yc of asia.
