With just 24 hours to its scheduled National Convention, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is yet to secure an official venue in Abuja.
According to party sources, a formal request was submitted to the office of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, seeking approval to use Eagle Square. While the letter was acknowledged, no response has been issued.
Efforts to secure an alternative venue at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium also failed, as ADC officials were reportedly denied access to the Velodrome after multiple engagements with authorities.
The party further claims that several privately owned event centres in Abuja have declined their requests, allegedly over fears of potential harassment from government authorities.
Despite the setbacks, ADC leadership has reaffirmed that the convention will proceed as planned in Abuja on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, in line with its notice to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
