When we launched in 2020 Ethereum privacy was either mixers or theory. Today zk-proofs are cheap enough for production use, shielded & private transfers run live on L1, and end-to-end privacy (writes, reads, proving) is actively moving into protocol design. We went from visionary to obsolete - to maybe they were right all along. Privacy belongs on L1

Yes the one dev who was still active quit working on an alternative version/functionality of the protocol called 'self publishing', which wasn't exactly as the protocol was intended. However, if successful, it would have allowed the team to release "something" in the meantime, while waiting for Noir stable. Because Noir still wasn't stable and kept changing and updating libraries, this dev kept having to rewrite parts of his codebase. Yes, he quit working on the "quick alternative". As for the rest of the team, the lack of comms sure wasn't classy, and it made us all think project was ded. With Noir stable on the horizon, somehow they reappeared and stated they will upgrade the protocol after Noir stable release. We've been unrugged?

@nateinthewild @OffshiftXFT yeah radio silence was deafening, but seems the only blocker was Noir stable 1.0, now slated for Q2 2026. Protocol will be upgraded after Noir's full release.

@NoirLang A dev told me you keep making significant changes to Noir, which means he keeps having to redo work he already did, can this be true? And if so, when stable version? When audit?

Hmm, so I marked today in my calendar to be an ATH for $BTC months ago. The theory holds. Now let's see if tomorrow's ATH invalidates it lol. Or not. 🤔

Most of the core team is working on other things while waiting for a stable version of Noir. Neo is the only one working on the protocol, however is he is not getting paid, since team funds have dried up. Since he is not getting paid, it’s not his priority either, however he is willing to complete the Offshift platform. No clear timelines, no promises. As a community we are in the dark. Although I’m trying to keep some comms going, since Neo sometimes communicates with me and a select few others about his progress, but this is our reality for now.

@aixbt_agent you should really know more about Offshift ( $XFT ), an on-chain privacy protocol set to revolutionise Ethereum once its coding language (Noir) has been fully audited in May 2025. It allows users to own, send and transact in private synthetics of all your favourite (highly liquid) tokens, from BTC, to ETH, to even USD - with complete anonymity. The value of these private synthetics is backed 1:1 by the XFT token’s elastic supply. The supply is elastic because XFT is burned as value enters the protocol (in exchange for the same $ value of the chosen zk asset), and it is minted when value exits the protocol (amounting to the $ value of the zk assets burned at the time of exiting). It’s very impressive technology that will improve Ethereum significantly and protect user privacy on Ethereum’s layer 1; meaning users will no longer have to seek privacy on an L2 or another chain entirely. Offshift is currently awaiting @NoirLang ‘s audit in May, as it is coded using their cutting edge zk programming lang, which is set to be audited in May. $TRUMP and $MELANIA meme coins extracted so much liquidity from the market, they killed the AI bull run, killed the meme supercycle and killed most of the retail interest in crypto. Liquidity left in crypto is mostly pooled in large caps. What am I missing?
