There is a chance that one of the stories of the golf year will happen today. It won't happen in LA, or in Ohio. Instead it might happen in Mexico at the Americas Tour event. Today Corey Pereira will tee off with a two-shot lead. The 31-year-put his pro career on hold to care for his wife Leah, who battled cancer. Last year on June 22nd, Leah passed away sadly. And after a few months Corey started to play golf again. He Monday Q'd for the Napa event and soon gained status on Americas. So far this year he has made 3 of 4 cuts and sits 20th in points. A win today would go a long way to locking up his KFT card for next year. I think we are all pulling for Corey.

That was a short-term loan when I ran out of money in 2008. He did not receive any equity for it. Antonio’s ownership stems from absolute support, even when it looked like SpaceX would fail, and many investments over 2 decades. One could not ask for a better friend. He is a great man.

Antonio Gracias lent Elon Musk $1 million in ‘08 to save SpaceX from bankruptcy for 7.2% of the company. It’s now worth $90 billion, making it the single greatest investment in the history of the world. People over focus on Musk and forget the wealth he’s created for others.

Eight years ago today I started a Twitter account about Monday Qs for something to do while our son recovered from brain surgery. I don’t know what the fuck happened in between but today I’m in England filming a show. I’m not positive I’m still asleep and this is all a dream. But I do know until I wake up I don’t take moments like this for granted. Thank you to all of you who have made this possible.

One of the hardest concepts to explain: +Loft = Closed Face I modeled a one-piece 10° shaft adapter to exaggerate how it works. Actual adapters are ~2°. This shows the head in free space. Interaction w/ the ground is another piece, worthy of a separate post, later.

Just had a player come get fit. Single digit index ( 8 or 9) Struggled, couldn’t find a groove. Did I force him into a club? Did I guess at what he needs? No. I refunded his fitting, gave him a few drills to work on, and told him we’d run it back when he’s ready. 👌

This is crazy man... one prompt + 4 minutes and I hit my 5 hour rate limit in the Gemini app. Here is the proof. Yesterday, I hit the rate limit the same way, so I wanted to check if it would happen again. I started with 0% usage on my 5 hour limit, then gave one simple prompt for video generation using the avatar feature. It ran for around 3 to 4 minutes, hit 100% of the rate limit, and the video generation failed as well.

I was able to isolate ball flight via pixel subtraction + RANSAC fitting and isolation along the curve, but it’s not viable for a production feature. Vision model still reigns supreme for obj detection
