@SamCheema21 @HenryStaelens Cost! Let's face it a kid can get a football pretty cheap and go down the park and have a game with friends. To do the same with hockey even street hockey you are talking a minimum of £200 just for skates and a stick not many parents will have the cash for that!

Just spoke to the BBC about the demand for ice rinks in the UK - piece out next week. The mainstream media's intrigue in the sport is getting less absurd each time they look at the sport - from the ridiculous FT article about why women follow ice hockey, then to the potential 'spike in interest' from Heated Rivalry, now finally true journalism about something that matters. Waiting lists at nearly all clubs. Many hours of travel just to train. 2million tickets sold annually to league/cup fixtures. Biggest indoor sport in the country (by a long way). The sport has grown quietly, well-past the current infrastructure available. This is not just a supply and demand issue that will 'go away'.

@c_bezzz I believe that you can have games for all causes! But sack off the jerseys! 1 special jersey a year, like a throwback jersey but sack off Christmas, Halloween, Easter, pride and everything else as it just creates controversy!

It's about time the EIHL only allows certain games to be used for raising money for charitable causes like homelessness, children's charities etc...nobody will argue about that and it will not create any drama

@cormier_maurice I would say the biggest barrier (besides infrastructure) is money. Skates, stick, pads then ice time. Not something you can just nip down the park with your friends to play.

Yeah i wouldn't want to tell you how much money hockey can be. But when your kid gets up at 5:00am on his own because he has hockey at 8:00am i would have spent more. In Canada we have the infrastructure's in place which makes early development easier. Just no sleep for Mom & Dad

A successful week for the Giants, punching down against both the smaller teams they came up against before being soundly beaten tonight by the biggest club in the UK. The fight for 2nd this year is certainly going to be hotly contested, very best of luck to them with that

@faithsmith2608 1st Period - Extra warmup time, officials "attempt" to officiate! 2nd Period - Were Guildford supposed to come out after the break??? 3rd Period - A decent end to end game!

Ignoring the first 10 minutes, we played a solid 200 foot game. Always nice to see 5 different goal scorers which will build confidence before a big weekend. Clear to see the defence is tighter than earlier in the season and Greenfield coming up big again when called upon.

Just need to put this one to bed the ferry being delayed was a huge factor. Barely made it for warm up. Can't really expect them to play a physical game tired and hungry. Belfast were well rested and deserved the win. Would rather lose in Cup than the league.💜
