这哥们好不容易开心一天估计又要被川川干回去了。
大空头这电影这些年害了太多人,总有些小天才觉得我也是个大空头,硬是在可以躺赢的市场里靠自己的努力跪下来了🤣

okeis JD reported 1Q26.
Finally back to positive EBIT after 3 quarters.
Product sales up 1%, combination of:
-electronics revenue down 8% (vs 17% up last year given government subsidies)
-general merchandise revenue up 15%, offsetting decline in electronics
-2 year CAGR is 8.3% (if you want to normalize over 1Q25)
fine. This grows more than Costco and WMT, but trades at 6x not 50x.
Services sales:
-Marketplace and advertising revenue up 19%
-Logistics up 29%
fine (a lot of this revenue is subsidized, so here it is more important to look at EBIT growth not revenue)
However, at this time, I don't think it makes sense to look at divisional EBITs, because with usd1.5bn of investment in new business (food delivery, Jingxi, overseas), costs can be moved around at will (reported ecommerce EBIT margin looks great at 4.9% vs 4.1% last year, but how much cost has been moved "new business" EBIT?)
so consolidated:
-EBIT RMB4.7bn, down 57%, but positive for the first time since 2Q25.
-Adjusted net income (but inc SBC) down -46%
-EPS down -39% (buybacks)
Repurchased 1.6% of shares in Q1.
fine
Granted 2% RSUs to uncle Liu in each of the listed subs to keep him motivated (not joking, that's the exact word used).
lol
This was probably kind of in line with what was expected (maybe a bit positive surprise on pace of reduction in expenses, and electronic sales not down DD).
Let's see what they say in the call about retail momentum in Q2.

AI agent's workplace persona:
OPUS -> expensive c-suite, only spend time on key decision making, weirdly obsessed about all the DEI/ESG bullshit, but otherwise extremely competent
GPT -> middle management, assign and coordinate works
KIMI/deepseek/qwen -> your local Chinese/Indian wage slave on H1B visa, cheap/disposable/replaceable
grok -> the stoner you hang out to have a good time, probably crack a few racist jokes and/or make some inappropriate comments about your colleagues
gemini/llama -> I don't know, probably works in HR or some made up job

@DudeWhoInvests sounds like a low agency little bitch bitching about being a little bitch

@Baxate China won't be building AI when they can't get enough energy out to prevent rolling blackouts nationwide.

@perplexity_ai You have to stop silently switching the model mid conversation.
More than happy to deal with rates limit or throttling, just let people know they hit the limit and need to slow down. Silently switching/downgrading model is evil and corrupts output quality.

Will always be surprised by just how impossible it is for the CCP to understand separation of powers.
They control the courts, so cannot compute that these two spies were convicted through an independent process. They weaponise the judiciary, so assume that other governments must, so throw around accusations like those in this batty MFA statement.
We’ve had something similar over the 🇨🇳 mega embassy. The idea that ministerial permission would be subject to a process was simply inconceivable to them. From 2022 onwards Beijing just thought we were using the process to delay and equivocate, which made them more angry. They thought that we were pulling their leg.
Do you think it’s possible to get a fair trial in a country which literally cannot get their heads around the notion of judicial independence?
CHINA MFA Spokesperson 中国外交部发言人@MFA_China
MFA spokesperson’s response to the UK court’s guilty verdict against Yuen Chung-biu: The charges are speculative. The case is an abuse of legal and judicial processes. The accusations are designed to vilify China and brazenly support those who seek to destabilize Hong Kong. The whole thing is a political stunt. China urges the UK to redress its wrong action, stop the smear campaign, stop propping up the saboteurs, and preserve the hard-won positive momentum in China-UK relations.

@JuliaManch @grok who is ezra jin and why was he arrested in China? Did he break any clearly established Chinese Law locally?

NEW: President Trump told me he will bring up the imprisonment of Christian Pastor Ezra Jin to Chinese President Xi during his trip to Beijing next week.
“I’ll bring it up,” he said.
Jin has been imprisoned since October. Secretary of State Marco Rubio condemned the mass detention of Jin and dozens of other members of Zion Church.
