@AdamSinger Perhaps they do understand power and economics. Money is power. Take money away from people to weaken them and strengthen “the party”. Impoverish people so they can be subjugated. I believe that is the Democrat strategy.

@AdamSinger The fundamental problem with leftist’s economic understanding is that they view wealth as zero-sum. They cannot conceive of a way to make the poor better off without just taking from the rich.

@AdamSinger Presumably some AI could figure out the markers of your taste profile, and then go through the actual music content looking for that actual pattern.. but I doubt the music platforms really need it to be that smart and they probably have their own promotion goals.

I just don't think music algos/AI can do recommendations. Spotify surfaces nostalgic tunes but nothing new. I've spent well >$10K on Beatport over a decade and still make 0 purchases from recs section (finds labels I like but can't pick winning tracks). Clearly a human task to me

@PixelAloha The only way I ever find new music I like is sorting through releases in genres I like sorted by date or occasionally via label (which is really just human curation)

@AdamSinger I have no idea how sophisticated their algos are. It's probably just "other people liked X, so here's Y". If they actually started analyzing tracks for mood, sentiment, etc, I bet you could get better picks based on what you actually like in the music itself.

@AdamSinger dance music is very lucky that labels themselves act as the recommendations considering they're usually tailored towards a specific niche even in a specific genre. Armin's Whos Afraid of 138 label is uplifting trance only, as an example
