Okay it's one of those nights again. Open for movie recommendations, generally war or historical, but needn't strictly be. I'll come back in an hour and a half

So why search? Why dig through troves? Well, it gives you a sense of what is possible. It expands the latent space of what goals you can even have.

A prim 8yo girl in a school uniform and with a nice British accent being barbarically rude to my 3yo in a London museum queue is very jarring to my American sensibilities You’re supposed to be the civilized one

It's really okay to marry someone, stick with them, and raise kids together. No journalist will write an edgy magazine piece about your lifestyle, but you'll have a great shot at a fulfilling and meaningful life.

@_CLancellotti I had a high school history teacher who had an incredible bit / modest proposal about how you should just extend the abortion window to 2 years old

The decriminalization of abortion up to birth (!) in the UK and various blue states shows the lie of the "continuum" theory. By a simple logical necessity, if you accept abortion at point X in the continuum, you will later accept it at point X+1 and over time it will reach birth.

If you are a full-time employee at a large corporation and you *love* your job: can I informally interview you (~30 mins) about what your job entails, what you love about it, and how you experience corporate culture? If I speak with enough people, maybe I’ll anonymize my findings and write about them. But my main motivation for now is to expand my understanding of what is possible in the realm of corporate experience—as someone who has always struggled with its cultural constraints despite excelling in my actual work; who has always only been surrounded by people whose souls have been crushed by corporate world; and who is finding it increasingly difficult to envision a better reality.
