Well, it would seem that Mark Shorrock’s dream of building a Tidal Lagoon in Swansea Bay, using rock from his Cornish Quarry is over. Let’s wait and see what he dreams up next for Dean Quarry. What a David & Goliath journey this has been.

On July 1st 2020 the U.K. Government sent a letter to the developer of Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay to confirm that the projects Development Consent Order had expired. Please see the attached two pages of this letter.

No such reassurance letter has ever been received by Shorrock of @TidalLagoon in his capacity as owner of Shire Oak Quarries. Taking down deanquarry.com website on 24.6.20 that STILL displayed Tidal Lagoon rock hopes is a costly gesture too late.
