@Type_O_Purple The best interpretation of this movie, one that avoids all that is, is "she is possessed by the spirit of his cat." Because the idea that she is "split" in two isn't reckoned with in most peoples takes. Sure, Bear is bad, but why is she all of a sudden splitting?

Neither Nikki nor Bear is a villain. There is no villain. It's just a sad, tragic story. And people can no longer differentiate between a flawed character and an evil person because they're incapable of processing things outside of the most black-or-white lens imaginable.
