Timely, just heard from a local child how the local head gathered year 2’s into the room to shout at them because a child broke something. Many started crying. It can’t just be me… 😳#SEND

As the authoritarian lobby group continues to flog out-of-date Kool-Aid to a global audience, it's to be hoped that England turns its back on the 20th century, and starts to grasp the present. You can't educate kids by traumatising them. It's time to understand them. 4/4

Intentional vexatious complaints take up a lot of school time and resources and increase workload and stress for staff and volunteer governors. They cost money too. Enough is enough. Read our latest blog below. 4/4 headrestuk.co.uk/blog/when-comp…

Crikey. Don't agree with Stuart much and am blocked by him but he's right on the money with every single one of these.

@adamboxer1 Keep an exercise book on your desk. Date every day. Note every single conversation, discipline (phone/ person) about a child and keep doing it forever. Saves incredible amounts of time and resists duplication.

There's something about a child coming to you on the playground at the start of the day and proudly presenting you with something they made at home, just for you, that makes your day start with an extra cheerful smile

@Emma_Turner75 I was in charge of authority-wide training on interactive whiteboards (Promethean at the time) while at my first secondary school and I can assure you that, used intelligently, they are by far one of the best classroom tools for presentation, practice, student engagement etc...

When I first started teaching there was no PowerPoint,no digital projection whatsoever & no laptops. Learning the craft ‘analogue’ was a brilliant experience & sharpened all aspects of teaching; I’d still always choose real pen and real board over digital almost 100% of the time.
Sam Strickland@Samstricko181

Teaching with just a pen is a hugely under-estimated art that can have a profound impact on pupil learning…. It relies on the teaching being the expert.
