@mannmicj @mlbbowman He did go 3 full seasons and barely missed a game. So, it’s certainly not crazy to think he can play 150+ games and hit 40 HR. He might,he might not but it’s reasonable to say he’s capable.

@mlbbowman Since being available to play (you know, not being hurt) is a requirement. He will NOT hit 40.

@DOBrienATL Why an overpay? Because they have need now? Multiple pitchers still on the market-why would you have to overpay when they obviously haven’t gotten the offers they wanted to this point or they’d be signed. No reason to think that any of them could be signed for fair market value

#Braves said entering offseason that bolstering their rotation would be a priority. They didn’t do that, and now would almost certainly have to overpay to add a suitable starter.

@HagenSnellBB B’s wRC+ will go down w/age.He’s better defender which helps his WAR. Player A was around 70 WAR and then played 5 more years. You never know when a player is going to hit that wall. Career numbers can be deceiving. Should look at players peak years and how long was that peak

@jebmaize17 Dubon career OPS of 668, Kim is 701. Fans hate the thought of Dubon as starter for 6 mil but love the thought of Kim as starter for 15-18 mil. 🤷🏼‍♂️

@jase1129 He may have had some work with Acuna and Albies, but he wasn’t here when Harris was drafted.

Did you guys know that George Lombard contributed to the development of Ronald Acuna Jr, Ozzie Albies and Michael Harris?

@RealCJ10 It’s not that it doesn’t matter- it’s simply not best stat to use. 300/325/400 hitter vs 250/350/450 hitter. Not close, 2nd one is better. I wonder if thier OBP and OPS are also at top. Most likely. You need both. Hard to win hitting 220.

@jase1129 @ChoppinBravos But he has. Threw a combined 110 innings last year between minors and majors. Came up as a starter so yea, it was quite some time ago but he’s started 114 games in his long minor league career.

@KevinKeneely1 @Hi__Clutch Verdugo was one base at a time- he’s not the tyimg run. It wouldn’t have mattered. Maybe there’s a 1% chance that some freak play where a pinch runner could beat a force play (very rare). But even pinch runner is taking zero risk when they are down 2.

Brian Snitker got exactly what he wanted as the Braves fall to the Marlins, losing the series against them 👏🏼 a perfectly punted game

I’ll say this, if Kimbrel isn’t retiring and we just paid him $2M for one outing AND got rid of Blewett I’m going to be very annoyed.

@edmonsonjosh8 @mlbbowman I know Fairchild has struggled but Verdugo is 1 for 18 (walk off hit I believe) vs LHP so far. And his career splits look like a good candidate to be a platoon player. Good bat to have off the bench vs RHP.

@mlbbowman Who would you rather have in there, Verdugo, or Fairchild? The answer to that is obvious.

@CarasikS @BeaneaterB He’s a terrible defender. Having a utility guy that isn’t good defensively isn’t a good move. There’s a reason he was let go by multiple teams.

@stephn0tcurry @BeaneaterB It did. But most fans weren’t happy at the time of that trade. Was showing how different fans see players - every team but theirs acquire ‘great’ players. I had Braves fan comparing Braves-Phil’s lineup and you would’ve thought Stott was a 5 time all star. Marsh too.

@stephn0tcurry @BeaneaterB Phillies acquire Luzardo, Braves fans upset because Phillies are so much better now. If Braves acquire Luzardo, Braves fans are upset saying he’s oft injured and 5 ERA last year. 🤣.

@BeaneaterB Once Walker is gone this may very well be the best rotation this team has had in a decade. I wouldn’t say its as good as yk… THAT rotation, but it’s ELITE

@BeaneaterB Oh it’s already closing. Pitching mediocre at best. First base slightly above average. Catching is now “ who knows”, short is an easy out, left field is a guess and without Strider & Acuna definitely behind Philly and maybe the Mets. Not resigning Freeman was a mistake.

@ErickHilyard @DOBrienATL Under contract for 4 more seasons- it’s too far away for those projections. Will he be healthy? Will he be playing at MVP level? I hope he’s healthy and playing at a high level for 4 years - gives Braves a better chance to win. Worry about the rest in 2029.

@DOBrienATL I still believe that when Acuna’s contract is done so is his time in the Atl. He will be a Yankee or a Dodger, or maybe even a Texas team. I just don’t see the Braves picking up that big of a contract. But we have a few more years to enjoy him as a Brave.

@ElonMuskOde Assuming I get all 5 million, 500k to church/charity. 500k for home improvements and some ‘fun’ purchases. Will send some ‘gifts’ to a few specific friends/family. Leaves 3.5 million invested for retirement (which isn’t that far off for me)
