Going out on a limb here, if 75% of sec is preseason ranked and they play each other and wins and losses count the same, how does 6-8 sec teams ever fall out of the top 25? How is the SOS and FPI ever reduced? Maybe my logic isn’t working. Seems like it is fixed for the Sec.

But you can. Ohio state is a literal choice. Our conference games are not. If we could “choose” to blow everyone out, we would. But we can choose to not risk an L when Ls are really all that matters for CFP. Go 12-0 against JV teams and you are in no questions asked. Why risk an L?

You can’t lose to a shitty Florida team and play the “if Texas didn’t play Ohio State” game. You can’t go into OT with Kentucky and play the “if Texas didn’t play Ohio State” game. You can’t need a miracle to beat Miss St and play the “if Texas didn’t play Ohio State” game.
