this x1000 we need to move away from "ranked" wins as the only 1 or 0 option and do a college basketball ranking that ranks the wins in tiers top 10, 11-25, 26-50,51-75-76+ Not looking this up but my guess is Texas has like 7+ wins in tier 3 and IU as 7+ wins in tier 4/5 (hence their SoS)

@gregogallagher Most lifters are so far away from “getting too bulky” in the wrong places that it’s almost not worth mentioning. It’s like telling women not to lift bc they’ll get bulky. Or that I shouldn’t shoot too many jump shots otherwise I might end up in the NBA on accident.

@UnhingedHookem @jalenpolobrown @CorbinCasteel Unhinged is a good name for you.. “underachieved with a final four team” is so stupid and uneducated He literally made the elite 8 before his best player Dylan Disu got hurt If Disu didn’t get hurt he would have probably won a national championship his first year at Texas

@KcLowww @jalenpolobrown @CorbinCasteel My guy, RT is career .500 coach. Not sure what you are defending him for. He under achieved with a final four team and then the teams got worse under his leadership. There is a reason he didn’t immediately get job offers from good programs. Nice man, not great bball coach

@omriceren Diego Garcia is not America either. There is an unstable repressive regime with about 50 nuclear armed ballistic missiles that can reach the US in about 20 mins and for some curious reason that regime remains unmolested by the US military.

Huh. Fully operational IRBMs. I guess President Trump and U.S. defense officials had access to information regarding Iran's missile capabilities that was not available to leftwing tankies, New Right dipshits, and journalists.
OSINTtechnical@Osinttechnical

Iran fired a pair of intermediate-range ballistic missiles at Diego Garcia, a joint U.S.-UK base in the Indian Ocean. One missile failed in flight, and another was engaged by a US Navy destroyer using an SM-3 missile.

I have a bone to pick with monogamous relationships. Mainly because it's just so damn easy to cheat nowadays. Like it or not, if you want to protect your monogamous relationship, you have to be a paranoid husband and go nuts with the surveillance, monitoring, mate-guarding, overt controlling, setting of boundaries, etc. I felt tired just typing all of that out, I can't imagine actually having to do it. You can't just let her be and "trust" her -- it doesn't work anymore in 2026. She will always tend towards cheating and hypergamy, because that's her very nature, and she has the full means to do that extremely easily nowadays. EVERY GUY out there is sniping on your wife, because guys instinctively know that women who are provided for financially by hubby are often super-bored, have stale bedrooms, and are constantly looking for new excitement. So in essence, you're like Tom Cruise in War of the Worlds, where you have to ward off all the survivors in an alien apocalypse, because you're the only guy with a working car. It's a total losing battle. Hell sometimes it isn't even monogamy per se that's the issue. It's that we men are often the sole providers, so of course we feel compelled to protect our investment by ensuring her sexual exclusivity. Makes no sense to work so hard like a dog and provide for some bitch... only to have her fuck other dudes for free. That's fucking unjust! You pay through your nose + an arm and a leg just for her to be reluctant/dreading it in the bedroom AT BEST. While some other dude pays NOTHING and gets the best of her sexually. The "monogamy and betabuxxing" model HAS to be the worst sexual strategy in the world. I don't know why so many guys continue to do it. These husband-materials are all total spineless imbeciles.

People really expect the S&P 500 to deliver a +10% annual return. Not realizing that from 2000 - 2009 the market was flat. An entire decade of no returns.

@JasonL_Capital RE: closing at 50% If you close, but to collect similar premiums means selling at a higher strike that you dont like better to just let it expire?

Do not sell cash-secured puts without knowing these 10 things: 1. Stock selection is 90% of the trade. If you wouldn't hold the stock for years, don't sell puts on it. 2. Target the 0.20 delta range. That's roughly an 80% probability of keeping your premium. 3. 30 days to expiration is the sweet spot. Theta decay accelerates hardest in this window. 4. Close at 50% profit. Don't hold to expiration. The annualized math on closing early destroys holding for the full premium. 5. Your strike should be at a price you'd love to get assigned at. Not tolerate. Love. If there's hesitation, move the strike lower or skip the trade. 6. Pick strikes at or below support levels. Stack technical conviction on top of the statistical edge from delta. 7. Check the IV environment first. High IV means fatter premiums and more cushion. Low IV means you're not getting paid enough for the risk. 8. If you're assigned, that's not a loss. That's the next phase. You now own a stock you wanted at a price you chose. Start selling covered calls. 9. Check liquidity on the specific contract. Wide bid-ask spreads are a hidden tax on every trade. If the spread is wide, move on. 10. Have an exit plan before you enter. Know when you'll roll, when you'll take assignment, and when you'll cut the loss. This is the foundation of my entire system. I sell puts on stocks I want to own, at prices I've already decided I'm comfortable with, and I get paid to wait. NFA DYOR

You know how wife guys like to joke about how wifey is always right? Or that if they offended wifey in any way or just so much as look at her wrong, it's sleeping on sofa time? Or how they proudly show off their man cave that they use to escape their wives, just so they can have some peace and quiet in their own damn home? These wife guys joke about domestic abuse and make light of it all the time. I think they're in pain, but they know they're trapped, and society's firmly on her side anyway no matter what she does. So all they can do about it is just laugh at themselves and self-deprecate to mask the pain, and maybe commiserate with other wife guys stuck in the same predicament. It's some "death smiles upon us, and all we can do is smile back" type shit. Except in this case "death" is the matriarchal tyrant called a lawfully-wedded wife with all sorts of powers and privileges bestowed upon them by the feminist family court system to ruin their lives. I don't think there's a more helpless and miserable group of men with less agency than wife guys a.k.a. husband-materials. Nothing but a bunch of emasculated, castrated eunuchs who are a shadow of their former selves.

2x is massive. But in it's closer to 4x overall numbers. I think the better assessment would be to see how BV handles the class in particular, since we already have the raw data at scale for 4* vs 3*. I'm particularly curious to see if he sends offensive players to the league from this class. We know he can coach defense. But what else?

Slim advantages in a breakdance battle, maybe. But in football it's significant. Too many fall for the stars don't matter fallacy because there's so many 3-stars in the NFL. Ignoring the fact that there are so many more 3-stars in total. This is a per capita math problem
Geoff Ketchum@gkketch

The biggest challenge the recruiting industry has on its hands is the fallacy that a 4-star rating is an important metric. It's the biggest false hype tool in college athletics. Decades of historical evidence reveals 95+% of them have slim advantages over most 3 stars.

@CFBNerds I dont think we are really in disagreement here class filled with 3*s sends 1.6 guys to NFL, OU will send ~3~. In aboslute terms, this just isnt a huge jump

The average class filled with 3 stars sends 1.6 guys to the NFL. If math holds for the 4 stars, they'll send ~3 of their 11 to the NFL. Not to speak of the other 14 or so players they'll sign If OU sends fewer than average then it's an indictment on this specific staff and not of people having an inflated perception of 4 stars overall

@UnhingedHookem "Over most 3 stars" is thousands of players. Not the 375th player vs the 376th player line of demarcation. My guess is the intent here is to downplay Oklahoma's current class as it is replete with 4 stars.
