@Janeanon13 The “reasonable” ones also don’t seem to understand that when they make this argument, they are conceding that so-called “trans girls” are boys.

For the last couple months I observed “they just want to play with their friends” was a big one from the “reasonable folks” arguing for male inclusion in the female category. Now I’m noticing, after Graham Platner’s much celebrated line, we’re seeing more of this in the wild. Now I’ve never engaged with this person, maybe it’s organic, but over the years you’ll observe the different lines they’ll attempt to excuse boys in girls’ sports. My defense never changes. I don’t need talking points from conservatives. I can be consistent, where they shift and try different angles, because my stance is rooted in biological reality (along with a belief that women and girls matter) and theirs is a failing PR campaign.

@KDansky Interesting to me the Republicans are supporting Smithsonian at all. In Paul Ryan/Mitt Romney era they wanted to privatize it.

Correct. There is a US bill to establish a Museum of Women's History at the Smithsonian. It was very bipartisan. Republicans in Congress amended the bill to clarify that men don't count as women. Democrats withdrew support.

Someone should write a history of trans activism and the gender-critical reaction. From all I've read, almost all the early fighting happened in feminist spaces. Think Michigan Womyn's Festival's "womyn-born womyn" policy or Julie Bindel's columns going back to the early 2000s. Conservatives didn't care about inside-feminism wars. C'mon, it's right in the name! "TERF" (Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist) was coined back in 2008, but by the early 2010s, it was being used as a pejorative (I heard it from trans students around then). It's only around 2014 that conservatives started paying a lot of attention, realizing they had a hot issue. Their early efforts floundered (bathroom bills). It's ramped up since then, but so have feminists (hello JK Rowling entering the arena in 2019). So it's more complicated than Chris Rufo doing stuff (although he did do stuff!).

They cannot hear him. They have closed their minds and hearts to his wounded humanity because he is the victim of the ideological mania they have convinced themselves they are wise and good to propagate and inflict on others like him. It's rare that one gets to witness such a display of inhumanity in the present rather than in shocking tableaux from a barbarous past. It will be remembered by any sane, decent posterity with horror and revulsion and shame. That shame is compounded rather than mitigated by the fact that the practice that harmed Jonni was inflicted on him by a doctor under the guise of medicine, because this happened solely by virtue of vast corruption of the scientific and medical apparatus that permitted cult rituals to masquerade as evidence-based and lifesaving. That horror is compounded rather than mitigated by the fact that this medical corruption spread into politics and education so that a pseudo-reality of systematic medical misinformation remained in the ascendancy despite repeated exposure of the self-conscious fraud at the heart of every part of this ideological mania. It's been written about in the NYT after being confirmed again and again by the national health service of multiple European states -- and still Democrats remain smugly self-assured that the testimony of someone lied to and harmed like Jonni counts for nothing and they are the best person who have ever lived for ignoring his pleas to spare the harms inflicted onto him onto tother children. Their plan to avert that posterity is to exercise their power, the power of the state, to seal the whole world off from reason and reality, from accountability and truth, forever. Don't let them get away with it.

As state debates around trans continues a new talking point I am hearing increasingly is that national experts are to be ignored if they are inconvenient to the narrative. So far, I’ve been told if I live in Ohio, Colorado, or Maine only then would I be welcomed as part of the dialogue. What other issue do we silence national experts when a topic comes close to home? I called The Trevor Project b/c that's what LGBT influencers told me to do. They were nice at first, but when I started talking about what was actually wrong, the hormones, the blockers, my depression, they got very quiet & then they hung up on me, a suicidal child @JonniSkinner

@triggerpod @BenBankas I once visited a morgue (as part of my job as a criminal defense attorney, not for fun). People who work in morgues have some of the darkest senses of humor. You'd have to in order to work there!
