Apparently the new Netflix show about Spotify uses our Justice at Spotify action as a storyline, and underlines the fact that Daniel Ek believes it’s not his responsibility to pay artists fairly. The show creates a fictitious future that shows the UMAW equivalent succeeding!

@willmasonmusic This conversation is always lost in differing time frames. Yes UBI will fix this issue. Yes in a socialist paradigm music will not be valued solely at unit transaction. Yes we can discuss how music plays into socially necessary labor.

With the ongoing pandemic, artists are putting their lives at risk for booking nightmares and incurring thousands of dollars of tour debt. Santigold is correct. The struggles of touring are rarely ever spoken of. Hoping more big acts will take a stance.
