Yep, @ProWritingAid is good! Not a replacement for a flesh and blood editor, but excellent at spotting common typos, repeats, clutter words, and so on. I've used it on each of my books to tighten things up, hacking out unnecessary junk prior to sending it off to the editor. Well worth the money for the lifetime subscription.

Out of morbid curiosity, I tried the "Manuscript Analysis" from @ProWritingAid for my current WIP (Alteer Legends 5, shortly shipping off to an editor). The results were certainly interesting, but without the context of the 4 prior books, the AI clearly struggled (much as a reader would, I imagine) understanding some of the character arcs and motivations. But there were a few bizarre misunderstandings based solely on events in this book. Still, the tool more or less "got" the story, correctly identifying the main story, character arcs, and themes. Is any of it useful? I'm not sure. But amusing? Yes.🤣

@ProWritingAid I used PWA for several years, then I noticed some changes and glitches. I tried to get support, but no replies! I searched who owned PWA and found "Orpheus Technology" in London. I also discovered they R no longer in business. But they still have CC open. Crooked

I just tried the newest feature from @ProWritingAid - Manuscript Analysis MA evaluated my novel "Honey Ko" like an editor with a fine-toothed comb. Each of several areas were given a narrative review and an overall score (Concern, Working Well, Major Concern, Minor Concern). Characters were described and a percentage of presence provided. About My Story Narrative Themes Plot & Structure Characters Setting Also discussed are Plot outline, Themes and Motifs, Potential Readers, Similar Books, Character comparisons with other books, etc. If you're writing a novel, you need ProWritingAid. It's like having a professional editor available at the press of an icon. @ProWritingAidL

I use @ProWritingAid as a part of my process. They have a feature that lets you use it live in any writing space on your system—word processor, text messages, social media, etc. So it allows me to edit as I go. Before this, I would just use it to scan every manuscript when it was completed. I used to spend thousands on editors, but I've been able to trim that down by handing over a very clean manuscript. There's usually very little left to find. So 11/10 I would recommend.

@ProWritingAid if you see this, something that MUST be taken into account in future versions, are whether the manuscript is part of a series. At the very least, the user needs to be able to mark a book as a part of a series so the AI can assume not all mysteries are resolved.

Alright. @ProWritingAid has rolled out an AI Manuscript Analysis. It costs a Credit. Credits are expensive, but it gave me one free. So I used it on After Moses. It's my first novel and I know it's flaws and strengths. Let's see how it does. 🧵
