Governance reforms are like going to the gym and working out. It's controlled pain, muscle breakdown, and recovery, a painstakingly slow process, that progressively builds strength over time. It gives a stable high and long term benefits. Great nations are built through reforms, and ruined through obsessive geopolitics.

Not analysis, but I get why some in the US are frustrated with how the Iran war is going, and others are worried about the long-term damage, globally and regionally, and the people caught in it, but if those most responsible for the operation don’t accept that things aren’t going well, they’ll just keep making more mistakes and make it worse for everyone. I am saying this as someone who is very hawkish on Iran, and generally favourable towards our American friends.
