It's hard to exaggerate how stupid the concerns over AI data centers using water are. It's like being against building computer chips because people in corporate tech offices might use parking spaces. The value of what's being built versus the cost of the resource concern is so out of proportion that no serious person can talk like this. The anti-data center movement is the new Epstein files. @RichardHanania People under 25 have likely used AI for some of their own writing, and once you do, you start to notice the way it writes. Anytime I read or listen to something and the words "It's not x, it's y" appear, I instantly know AI wrote that line. There's so many other small tells too

I conducted an experiment in which I wrote two op-eds, and had Claude and ChatGPT write their own versions. I wanted to see if people could tell the difference. The most interesting result? The older you get, the worse you are at telling AI from the real thing. The differences were extreme. 75% of people under 25 got the first op-ed correct, compared to 30% of those 55-64, and 17% of those 65 and up. This means that those over 55 did worse than chance! Even more surprising: This was true even when controlling for how confident people were. Old people who were most confident in their answers were less likely to be correct than young people who were least confident. This indicates that old people are going to have trouble navigating the future. And not only that, but they'll have unjustified confidence in their ability to do so.
