Col. James Smith, the Canadian Commander of Task Force Latvia, has been charged with neglect to the prejudice of good order and discipline.
The investigation started in May of 2025, but he stayed in the role. Unclear if he has been/will be removed.

@CDNPolicyHawk I’m not suggesting that Col Smith should be (or should have been) removed from his position. But I am saying that senior CF decision-makers continue to be arbitrarily inconsistent in their decision-making.

@CDNPolicyHawk So, a MGen is removed from a position because of something that allegedly happened (but didn’t) over 30 years earlier, when he was an OCdt, but someone accused of misconduct in his current command position remains.
