This was Kabale town yesterday, Mr. Museveni was campaigning there.
While NRM is free to move around and hold processions unhindered, for NUP it has to be tear-gas, beatings and arrest of our supporters.
The police spokesperson will call a press conference and say, "Those videos are AI...NRM supporters don't hold processions it's only NUP and that's why we beat them and tear-gas them."

PERSECUTION OF AHMADI MUSLIMS IN PAKISTAN IS A GLOBAL HUMAN RIGHT CRISIS
Life is worsening each day for Ahmadi Muslims in Pakistan, Persecutions upon Persecutions occurring under the watch of both Pakistan security agencies and the international community. Despite constitutional guarantees, Ahmadi Muslims are systematically deprived of their religious freedoms, violence, and legal discrimination.
Today the world may view these atrocities as an internal issue of Pakistan, but the persecution of Ahmadi Muslims is a global human rights crisis that threatens the very foundation of religious freedom everywhere. The United Nations Human Rights Committee has repeatedly emphasized that freedom of religion is non-negotiable, yet states like Pakistan continue to impose discriminatory laws, such as Ordinance XX, which criminalizes Ahmadi religious expression. The silence of the international community in the face of such oppression sets a dangerous precedent, undermining efforts to promote global tolerance, coexistence, and peace.
Addressing this crisis requires urgent international intervention, including diplomatic pressure, sanctions against violators, and greater advocacy through human rights organizations such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.
Religious persecution anywhere is a threat to religious freedom everywhere, and allowing such injustices to persist weakens the very principles upon which international human rights law is built.

In Mbale City, we have established a concrete pole network in the Industrial Park. These poles are highly resistant to adverse weather conditions, particularly floods, which have historically disrupted power supply in the area by damaging wooden poles. This upgrade is a significant step toward enhancing the resilience of the electricity infrastructure and supporting the continuous growth of businesses and communities in Mbale.

Today, I have learned that 19 of the original 32 political prisoners on the #OliviaLutaaya file have succumbed to regime coercion and pleaded guilty to crimes they did not commit after enduring nearly four years of detention without trial. It has also come to light that Mr. Museveni’s minister, Balaam, visited these political prisoners on Saturday —a non-visitation day— and pressured them to plead guilty and seek Museveni’s forgiveness or else they would never leave prison.
It is worth noting that, while we have been routinely blocked from visiting these comrades, regime operatives have had unrestricted access to them during which they have held long, recorded conversations and exercised undue influence over them. Even the few times we have met them have always been brief and conducted in the presence of security operatives and prison warders who insisted on listening to every word of our conversation.
This blatant abuse of rights and misuse of power must make us all to put today's events in their proper context and therefore understand instead of judging these comrades. They have spent nearly 4 years in jail without trial, and without any evidence being presented against them. By the time the comrades were forced to drop our legal team which had represented them since 2021, the lawyers had taken every step in the book to secure their freedom but without success. The regime always made it clear that this was not a legal case but a political one. They were forced to abandon their lawyers and adopt UPDF lawyers!
While we understand the frustration and desperation of those who have pleaded guilty, I salute their 9 other fellow prisoners of conscience who continue to demand a fair trial or their freedom. The day of justice is near. WE SHALL OVERCOME!
THE DESECRATION OF AHMADI MUSLIM GRAVES IN PAKISTAN AND THE GLOBAL COMMUNITY'S INACTION
The desecration of Ahmadi Muslim graves in Pakistan by Islamic fundamentalists (often referred to as #Mullahs) continues to raise serious concerns. A 2023 report by #AlJazeeraNews revealed that over 197 Ahmadi graves were desecrated that year alone.
Despite Pakistan being a signatory to the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and ratifying the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights in 2010, such violations persist. Article 18 of both the UDHR and the Covenant guarantees freedom of religion and belief, further reinforced by the Declaration on the Elimination of All Forms of Intolerance.
However, these acts of persecution against Ahmadi Muslims continue unabated, often in the presence of Pakistani security agencies. It is frequently observed that security personnel stand by passively as Ahmadi property is vandalized.
Regrettably, this ongoing persecution occurs under the watchful eye of the international community. While other nations are sanctioned for violations of human rights, the decades-long persecution of Ahmadi Muslims in Pakistan has yet to prompt any meaningful action from the global community, despite clear infringements on the fundamental freedom of worship for religious minorities in the country.
This injustice can no longer be ignored. The international community, human rights organizations, and global leaders must hold Pakistan accountable for these egregious violations of fundamental human rights.

@JoelSsenyonyi What is meaning of 'opposition' and yet being funded by the acting government they oppose. Be kind and also oppose every finances and we cry together in resemblance
A few days ago, I saw this baseless propaganda making rounds. I had chosen to ignore it but am told it is misleading some people who have not been following the goings-on. For the record, when I was COSASE Chairperson we investigated Uganda Airlines and put together a scathing report which was signed by the committee members, there was not even a minority report because the entire committee agreed that what was happening at Uganda Airlines was simply unacceptable. We exposed the grand corruption at Uganda Airlines.
I handed over the report to the Speaker and Clerk to Parliament, and it was then uploaded onto the Parliament portal where it was accessed by all MPs. Shortly there after, the Speaker declined to have the report presented on the floor of Parliament, claiming it had "leaked". Of course this was deliberate and I have raised it repeatedly in the past.
For those who think propaganda will stand in the way of the accountability questions being asked by Ugandans, THINK AGAIN!
