Re: Brendan Sorsby Terrell Pryor tried to escape NCAA punishment, enter the Supplemental Draft and got handed a 5 game suspension from Goodell. I expect Sorsby to be granted Supplemental draft eligibility and then be handed some form of punishment from the NFL. QBs make the world go round in the NFL and there’s no question about Sorsby’s ceiling, arm and athleticism. Also, to those afraid that their team will draft him, he’ll get caught gambling on his own team and be banned - Google Isaiah Rogers. When he was with the Colts he got caught betting on his own team (Johnathan Taylor Props), got suspended indefinitely for the 2023 season, was reinstated in April 2024 and is currently on the Eagles. With @JFowlerESPN reporting the early consensus is Sorsby has 2nd round pick value in the Supplemental Draft, I wouldn’t be shocked if it’s a team like the Eagles and not someone we’d expect like the Jets to take that swing on him that highly. As for the Dolphins, I’d be comfortable with a 5th, you could twist my arm into a 4th but I wouldn’t feel comfortable risking a 3rd round pick or higher. I’m a big fan of the player Sorsby is but I have serious reservations and doubts about potentially making him the leader of your offense and face of your franchise after how this whole thing has transpired. It’s not just the fact he made 9,000+ bets with over $90,000, it’s also that he only went to rehab when word came down that the NCAA was going to lay the hammer down. I commend him for entering rehab and 1000% hope he becomes a better person from it but given the timing, it’s fair to wonder whether that decision was driven more by the impending NCAA punishment than a genuine desire to get help. I remember Kerry Collins recovering from Alcoholism and taking the Giants to the Super Bowl, so I know it’s possible that someone can recover from addiction, turn their life around and rise to the occasion but in the Dolphins case, it feels like they already took their risky swing at QB with Malik Willis this offseason so it doesn’t make sense to double down on potential risk at the games most important position. #PhinsUp

Rams should be pissed. Sorsby is a significantly better prospect than Ty Simpson and in all honesty is much closer to Mendoza than he is to Simpson. Awesome live arm. Nice blend of touch and power. Mobile. Can play from pocket. Browns should spend their 2nd to lock it down.

Why FAAB isn’t the best option here: Most teams currently have the same (or very similar) FAAB budgets, and some leagues don’t even use FAAB at all. If we went the FAAB route, everyone would just bid their entire remaining budget. In the event of a tie, the player would go to the team with the highest waiver priority — which is usually the worst team in the standings (or the team that picked latest in the most recent draft). That just rewards the rebuilding/worst teams with a free extra player while shutting out contenders and middle-of-the-pack teams. The supplemental 27 pick bid gives every team a real, equal chance based on how much they value Sorsby, without automatically handing the advantage to the bottom of the standings. Nobody would be afraid to lose all of their FAAB here.

@RonStewart_ I completely agree with this take Ron. For whatever reason, my league feels it should come down to faab. I don’t understand why we would let a rookie subvert the dynasty rookie draft when he went through a draft in real life.

How I’d Handle the Sorsby News – Supplemental Dynasty Draft To give everyone a fair shot at adding Sorsby while keeping things simple and competitive, here’s the process I recommend: 1. Bidding Format
Every team submits to the commissioner a 27 pick based off of this year’s draft order that they are willing to give up for Sorsby. 2. What to Submit
Tell the commish the highest 27 round pick you’re willing to surrender. • Example: “I’ll give up my 27 1st” or “I’ll give John’s 27 2nd.” 3. Winner Determination
The team that submits the earliest/highest 27 pick wins Sorsby.
That team will lose the submitted pick (it is forfeited), and Sorsby will be added to their roster. 4. Process • All bids are submitted to the commissioner while the commish lets fellow league mate know his highest offer. • The commish will privately confirm each team’s bid with them to avoid any mistakes. • The winner is announced, the pick is removed from this year’s draft, and Sorsby is added. This keeps the supplemental draft quick, transparent, and based directly on the current year’s draft order. It gives every team an equal opportunity without needing a full new round. @ArcRaidersNow I’m really frustrated with this game. Played for more than 200 hrs and never killed anyone, yet I’m getting ratted multiple times recently. I wish they stuck to their word about the matchmaking. We don’t need a lobby full of players, we need a lobby with similar play style.
