@incomplete1511 @RespectfulMemes @aj_arciniegas Admittedly I don't actually know that much about cats. Maybe they would text back. You prefer cats or dogs (have become v bonded to a sweet and gentle cockerpoo recently - didn't know much about dogs till a year with him)

@SearchingTLight @RespectfulMemes @aj_arciniegas I fully understand you. you need to fully understand me. My cats love me enough to respond back.obsessed people who care want attention ,and you give it to them if you actually love them .

The model in mental health is changing. The era of "faulty brain chemistry" is over, the hypotheses debunked, the drugs needlessly dangerous. We're moving to a more compassionate understanding that bad things happen to people and they suffer emotionally and physically as a result

@incomplete1511 @RespectfulMemes @aj_arciniegas Ha, some truth there. I was just suggesting if you had a need and text them, they probably wouldn't be concerned (and might not bother texting back, as the orig post suggested) 😂

Two people can love each other and still fail. One needed reassurance. One needed peace. One kept asking. One kept withdrawing. Love was there. Understanding wasn’t.

@eyojoel77 When someone consistently dismisses, deflects, or turns your concerns against you, speaking up can start to feel emotionally unsafe rather than productive.

People lack accountability, then be like "You could've just talked to me". No, I couldn't. You don't listen. You deflect. You gaslight. You make me feel like i'm the problem for bringing it up. So no, i stayed silent to protect my peace, not because I didn't want to fix.

@eyojoel77 Some people don’t want honesty. They want access to you without having to change anything. So every conversation turns into defending yourself instead of actually fixing the issue. After a while, silence feels easier.

people who lack integrity, consideration and empathy know how to imitate these things when it benefits them. trust your instinct the moment you see their mask slip.

@forallcurious CPTSD. I have it. Author Peter Levine has great books detailing the trauma and how to deal with it. Peter Walker’s ‘The Tao of Fully Feeling’ is good. Anything by Gabor Mate. I can’t recommend the book below enough for people dealing with childhood trauma.

🚨: Brain scans have revealed children living with unstable families (excessive, arguing, abusive and neglectful) have brain changes similar to combat soldiers after active duty

@BadSeedBooks @Ryan_Daigler This resonates (even if I wasn't setting the neighborhood on fire). It's absolutely never about them (all about control and an absence of real empathy)

Ryan Daigler - Exposing Narcissistic Abuse 🚩🚩
The scapegoat child usually starts off perfectly healthy — full of potential, resilience, and their own personality. But the narcissistic parent cannot tolerate that because it threatens their fragile ego and false narrative of superiority. So they begin a cycle of systematic stress and sabotage: —Constant criticism, arguing, shaming —Sleep disruption, manufactured chaos, and emotional whiplash. —Isolating the child from support, so no one can validate their experience. —Gaslighting and projection, making the child feel like they’re “the problem.” Over time, the child develops complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other trauma-related struggles — not because they were flawed, but because they were ABUSED INTO THAT STATE. Cont.
