It is time → effect.institute. 2026, the year of 𝚎𝚏𝚏𝚎𝚌𝚝. I'm extremely proud of how this turned out. There are many chapters to add, but I do hope you enjoy what's there so far. Let me know what you think. 🫡

@tannerlinsley I can't turn off Release Levels in the beta Feed. When I press the checkbox near the Release Levels label, it switches to all or some. I also can't make it so there are no checked boxes in the category.

I've been listening to feedback on docs readability and design. Shipped a bunch of updates today: Docs Layout - New collapsible sidebar with visual minimap showing where you are in the docs - Cleaner content area - removed the translucent backgrounds that were hurting contrast - Breadcrumb navigation so you always know what section you're in - Better responsive behavior on tablets/medium screens Table of Contents - Redesigned with a clear left-border indicator for the active heading - Uses library brand colors so it feels cohesive - Smooth scroll behavior when clicking headings Typography & Contrast - Switched to neutral grays (removed the blue tint) - 99% white in light mode, 96% black in dark mode for better contrast - Reduced shadow intensity across the board - content should feel grounded, not floating New Features - "Copy page" dropdown - copy as markdown, open in Claude, open in ChatGPT General Polish - Softer shadows throughout (less "chunky") - Removed hover lift effects on cards - Cleaner navbar with better button styling - Partners sidebar reorganized Still iterating. If something feels off, let me know. The goal is clarity and calm - docs should get out of the way and let you learn.

AI SDK has its largest download drop in its history. May not recover, root cause being investigated.

LemonSqueezy rejected my note taking web app so I'm releasing it for free. End to end encrypted offline markdown notes. Everything encrypted with a vault key that never leaves your device, no one else can read it, not even me. I use it all the time, even with sensitive data.

Is the registry a replacement for npm? No. Think in terms of abstraction. npm is a closed abstraction, maintained by someone else. “Here’s a function. I made it do X. Here’s how to use it to do X.”. The registry is an open abstraction, maintained by you. “Here’s the code for a function. It does X. You (or your llm) can change it to do your X”. The registry works alongside npm for distribution + iteration + ownership.

The moon is actually more useful than the sun, since it gives us light at night, when it's dark. The sun only gives us light in the day, when it's already bright.

Here’s the app idea. But first the problem: - Our conversations are scattered across apps - Answers are wall of text. You only care about 1-2 lines - Copy-pasting useful parts is tedious - And good luck finding where you ask what Coppermind is a small...(continues in thread).
